As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee aggressively pushed for the early release of a convicted rapist despite being warned by numerous women that the convict had sexually assaulted them or their family members, and would likely strike again. The convict went on to rape and murder at least one other woman.

    ~

Back in 1998, when Huckabee was Arkansas governor, his son David and David's friend Clayton Frady were fired from jobs at a Boy Scout camp. Why? Because they hung a stray dog by its neck, slit its throat and stoned it to death. (This same son was convicted in 2007 for bringing a loaded .40 Glock handgun and a 9-round clip through airport security. He was also Homecoming King at Arkansas State.)

    ~

[...]if you are one of the millions of Americans who is gay or believes in gun laws or stem cell research or birth control, the Huckster has a message for you: your money spends just as good as that of the righteous. Don't believe it? Just write him a check.

    ~

Fourteen times, the ethics commission -- a respected body, not a partisan witch-hunt group -- investigated claims against Huckabee. Five of those times, it officially reprimanded him. [...] He used public money for family restaurant meals, boat expenses, and other personal uses. He tried to claim as his own some $70,000 of furniture donated to the governor's mansion. He repeatedly, and obstinately, against the pleadings even from conservative columnists and editorials, refused to divulge the names of donors to a "charitable" organization he set up while lieutenant governor -- an outfit whose main charitable purpose seemed to be to pay Huckabee to make speeches. Then, as a kicker, he misreported the income itself from the suspicious "charity."

    ~

“There is a crisis in America. That crisis is divorce. It is easier to get out of a marriage than (to get out of a) contract to buy a used car.” -Mike Huckabee.

Yeah, trillions of dollars of debt, out of control corruption in the government, "terrorist" acts, an unofficial World War III, drugs and disease - and the crisis is divorce?

"Jesus was too smart to ever run for public office...that's what Jesus would do." -Mike Huckabee, after being asked if Jesus would have supported the death penalty.

Why is it that a would-be president, especially a self-proclaimed hardcore christian, not be able to answer that about the God he claims to know so much about?

"Whether we need to send somebody to Mars, I don't know. But I'll tell you what, if we do, I've got a few suggestions, and maybe Hillary could be on the first rocket." - "We've had a Congress that's spent money like John Edwards at a beauty shop." -Mike Huckabee.

Slanderous talk from a christian preacher.

I have to say it, I'm over at a Mike Huckabee forum *trying* to talk to some people there.... I've been there for a week or two, and there has only been ONE person in the threads I've been reading who is NOT a brainwashed freak.

Not because they like Huckabee, not because of their religious stance, merely because they keep spewing out the same crap en masse, and surprise surprise, the only reason these people don't cuss is because they think they'll go to hell for it, but just the same the message is very clear, "Fuck off anyone who isn't a xian, you will burn in hell for thinking outside the bible."

I have never seen such a blatant hatred of anything not christian.
I've been told that my daughter should be stoned to death for what I've said.
I've been told that I should be put to death for excercising free speech.
They say that individual rights should be suspended.
They've even said, paraphrasing, that christianity should be mandatory.

You sick fucks. That's called fascism, Nazism, oppression, tyranny, or any other synonym you like. The right of "freedom from religious oppression" means you insane self-righteous homicidal maniacs are not allowed to force your bullshit down my throat. You wanna kill my daughter? What the fuck is wrong with you?

I don't see this from any other candidate, and that alone I think would be enough to make any person squelch on their opinion of Huckabee long enough to at LEAST take a second glance.

What this country needs is less religion not more.

We have all seen what shithole, George Bush and the Neo-Con bible thumpers has gotten us in.

Hasn't Huckabee ever read the constitution, you know, the part that talks about the SEPERATION of church and state? That means, that all decisions regarding our country should be make logically and with both the will and the benefits of the people in mind. No religion is allowed to be forced down our throats, no matter who you are. I'm starting to think that Bush and Huckabee want the US to be like their friend Saudi Arabia, where if you are against the state-sponsered religion, you are a heretic that should be stoned and tortured. They want no women to have rights, and they pray for the day that they can start jailing and torturing homosexuals.

It's ok to have a personal opinion and belief of religion, but when it comes to the good of the people, check your bible at the door.

Damn straight. More death has been wrought "in the name of god" than any other reason in history.

"Fair Tax" is like calling a tripod mounted 50 calibur machine gun a water pistol.

Same misnomer as "The Patriot Act." The only thing patriotic about it is that we might use the thousands of copies of it as firewood.

A flat tax is all America has ever needed. You live in America, so you contribute a percentage of what you make to the government so they can use it for us. Fuck all the miscellanous confusing crap that has become the complex trickery that is bureaucracy; Everyone pays #% of what they make. Then, no matter how much or how little you make you're still being taxed "fair" on specifically what you make, not some arbitrary bullshit fluctuating bracket.

Huckabee and his supporters think that women who are raped "got what they deserved" He even went as far as to say that this man was probably innocent, despite the many women who accused him of rape, and despite the fact that he was found guilty multiple times of violent crimes. However I am sure he thinks anyone who smokes herb should be put in jail for a long time. This is a sick sick man.

    Don't believe me Click here

Now I am not a big Ron Paul supporter, but with all the uproar about his nazi supporters, we should hold all candidates to the same standard, and Huckabee's supporters are an insane bunch.

Amazing isn't it that he is even part of the primary process. I thought his type went out with Huey Long and George Wallce.

The Christian sheeple types that support Huckleberry Hickybee are too brainwashed, many of them have actually lost a fair amount of functioning brain cells under 2 terms of the Bush-Cheny-Neo-Con reign of madness and gross mismanagement.
