I'm into psychedelics and the way the mind expands with them. I'm gonna start college soon and I want to work with chemicals. Theres many different careers in this. I could make chemicals or I could practice on the brain with them. what my question is.. IF I WANT TO CREATE CHEMICALS LIKE WORK WITH PSYCHEDELICS . WHAT IS IT CALLED..I KNOW ITS SOMETHING WITH CHEMISTRY BUT I'M NOT SURE WHICH ONE IT IS..I'm not trying to do anything illegal. But psychedelics have been my main interest for years now.
Are you talking about what would you take to produce LSD? I heard its a really hard thing to do, but ya like the other guys said its Organic Chemistry.
I Know Its Not An Easy Thing And I'm Not Expecting To Only Learn About Drugs..what Really Interest Me Is How The Drug Effects The Brain..when I Was Younger I Had To Go To A Psycologist Because I Would See Patterns Without Taking Anything..and I Started Thinking Maybe We Can Have Psychedelic Trips Without Being Drugged..i Want To Learn About The Chemicals So I Can Study With The Way They Effect Our Mind..i'm The Kind Of People When I Have A Bad Trip I Laugh My Whole Way Through It Trust Me..while People Sit In The Corner Of The Room Crying..the Breathing Walls..the Way I Feel As One With The World..the Way Everythings Starts Dripping..i Like It All..i Just Want To Make Psychedelics A Household Item Instead Of A Drug....
sorry cant answer ur question butpsychedelics have been in my interest for a while now aswell.im not to wise on the subject although im more interested in the way how the brain "controls" itself and how easy it becomes to feel disorientated or left out so to say. but better yet how much fun and enjoyment these little squares bring us all. good luck with the study
Have you read PIHKAL or TIHKAL yet? The chemistry parts of it are free on the internet. It's really fascinating stuff even though I know nothing about chemistry...I wish I did!
yeah psychopharmacology.. that's what I was looking for and sorry about the capitalization haha . My phone wasn't working right that day. Well because organic chemistry is more about making the stuff which fascinates me too. But like I said for the most part, I was really more curious about the way the mind expands..thanks
You may also want to look into psychology. Some of my classes deal with how chemicals affect the brain including legal and illegal drugs. Some psych classes deal with research methods as well.
I was thinking the EXACT same thing... people come on here just to be smart asses instead of gaining or giving knowlege... Anyway there has already been so much research on the effects of drugs on the brain, I think what you are talking about is reaching a drug like state naturally... even spiritually. I think most of us would agree the usage of drugs is almost spiritual- and I use the word lightly because spiritual is very subjective for most people.... Humans are close but not that close, we are closed to many experiences and scared and blinded by organized religion
Right. It'd be Organic Chemistry to actually build the molecules and Psychopharmacology to study the effects.
