I think I am kind of sad. I was watching King of the Hill today, sitting with my little brother eating dinner. Hank took Bobby camping to show him self reliance. Then all of a sudden this dreddy guy comes up and offers Bobby this muffin he had in his pocket. Hank gets all mad, and starts to look around and starts to see hippies everwhere.

About 2 minutes later they are back at camp and they were met by this nudist, walks right up and say 'WELCOME HOME'. Swear to god. They nailed it all. Well in a twisted perverted bastardized way. They had kitchens, and a council circle. But they were the worst kind of shwag hippies, they enforced 'sharing' by stealing from Bobby.

They didn't dig their own shitters, they didn't have their own water. It was really really sad. And as soon as the forrest service shut down all the waste disposal and what not, they all left.

It was almost as if they knew exactly what all the gathering was about, and decided to attack. Show all those shitty, bad examples of laziness, but not show any of the good. They had DRUM CIRCLES! Bliss pits. They said Welcome Home. Is this so much more common than I had thought, I went to my first gathering like 4 months ago, nationals. A month before that I hadn't even heard of the Rainbow.

I know I'm kind of pissed. You hit it, their writers knew enough about Rainbow gatherings to rip it all to shreds. I didn't see the whole thing because I hate that show anyway, but if any of them are reading this: no, we don't steal and call it borrowing, and theft is actually a really sore subject because more people do get ripped off and taken advantage of in the woods than I wish; no, we don't ask a 10 year old boy and his dad to make love in our tent and that too is a knife wound you asses because our children are so so precious and the two cases of rape have hurt all of our hearts and make us extremely diligent in watching children out in the woods. I just couldn't watch anymore to see cartoon people make fun of the things I hold dear, like council, and pervert the real issues of gatherings in the woods.

    Reprehensible, Fox fatheads

I've seen that episode! I think it's hillarious. There's also an episode of Pinky and the Brain that's sort of a spoof of the movie Billy Jack that makes me wonder if maybe Spielberg hasn't spent a few days in the woods with the hippies...

It's just a TV show. I watch it and thought it was funny. Who cares what the rest of modern man thinks of us? Isn't that why we try to get away and live in our own way?
As long as we're happy then I don't mind what some redneck cartoon thinks of hippies!
If it matters THAT MUCH.. make a cartoon about hippies and make fun of the rednecks!! Peace & Love, Brother.
