The active chemical in seeds of the flower morning glory is called Ergine(Lysergic Acid Amide) and is an extremely close relative to the chemical LSD. After reading hofmann's book "LSD - My Problem Child" it made me wonder if you could convert the Ergine(LSA) into LSD. I sort of remember Dr. Hofmann saying that the process to synthesize LSD was better done from the base chemical Lysergic Acid, but it would seem that LSA could eaisily be made to Lysergic Acid and then into Lysergic Acid Diethylamide. Has anyone heard of this being possible or economically acheivable.
its possible but not really the way most people would like to go about it. if you had the hook ups to be cooking acid anyway id think youd be able to get pure ergotamine tartrate or at least youd want to be able to.
Fuck we need to make a sticky to stop these posts of 'how do i make lsd' there's a few new threads every week and they are all exactly the same.
even if it was sticky and even if we post the same thing on every thread theres always gonna be more newbs to come in to ask the same things in a hurry but yeah read pihkal and tihkal as said above thats your best bet
nice to be back so soon shape! my sons been with his mother and her new boyfriend for the last few days, cant seem to get anough of the nice people at hipforums at the moment, take my mind off things. hope all is well shapeshifter
I didn't mean to say "Easy" I know that dealing with Lysergic Acid amides is highly difficult and very tedious work, not to mention dangerous and expensive. But i had only read of ergotamine darivitives being used as precursors for the LSD synthesis. Indeed my question has been anwsered I am now curious to how the morning glory plant creates its LSA, and if it could be geneticly engeneered to making LSD instead which inturn could be eaisily extracted. Does anyone know if that would be conseivable?
maybe in 50 or 100 years when more great minds have learnt to unlock secret in the plant world its conseivable, but if im reading right you mean to grow plants that contain LSD instead of LSA? in which you would most probably have to genetically deform the plant in the first place. which would take immense study of plant if it were ever possible that is which would never get government backing and would most likely and sadly take more then a human lifetime it will be interesting to watch what people will accomplish in the next 50 years of entheogens and organic chemistry in general
