the thing about glenlivet was that it was too mild. if i wanted something so mild i could have easily bought a whole bottle of mcclelland's highland or something for just a few bucks more than the pint of glenlivet cost me. mcclellands, in my opinion, is pretty second rate and about on par with blended whiskies, but the price is right at just under 25 bucks and it does taste good and go down smooth....
A glass of Crown Royal at the moment which I think is quite good. Though after doing some research I feel like it wasn't worth the money. Alas, it's hard to be picky when you're handing some guy cash to go into the ABC. I'm thinking the tullamore dew sounds like a good choice next time.
The glenlivet is really mild for a scotch whisky, but also has alot of flavor if rolled around on the tongue. I tried isle of jura and really like it, it has been a bottle that drains fast, my only complaint is that when i opened it half the cork fell in the bottle... so now i drink a little cork every time i sip.
Laphroaig (malt whisky from the isle of Islay) a.k.a. "Liquid Smoke." I'm also partial to Oban, which I first tasted in the village of Oban in 1975. For a more affordable drink, White Horse. Its base is Lagavulin, also an Islay malt. Among bourbons, I'm partial to Woodford Reserve.
So, i'm trying whiskey for the first time right now. it tastes horrible. i mean, i'm gonna finish the glass. but fuck, it tastes like piss. Rum thank you. It's jack daniels btw.
Jack Daniels is nasty, you might as well drink rat piss or kerosene. Makers mark, knob creek, any other smooth kentucky bourbon, that's where it's at, sippin' good...
I think this is more about whiskey as opposed to bourbon. I would have to disagree when someone says Jack Daniels tastes like Kerosene- that would actually be more like moonshine. As for going as far as to say Jack Daniels tastes like rat piss, I would rather not know what rat piss tastes like, nor will I like to know how you found out. But I will agree on one thing, Bourbon is best when it's from Kentucky!
