Personaly I think older stoners, 30-50 year olds are way cooler than the younger stoners of today. They just seem to be more unique and have an interesting character. With exception to the older people who have gotten messed up on drugs, I wouldnt mind growing up to be like some of the older stoners I have met. Maybe its because they grew up in a differnt era when youth culture was more punkish, so to speak. Because to me most of the younger stoners today seem like complete gangzta, retards who drive around town in their souped up cars all listening to gangzta beats thinking their cool. My appolagies of I have offended you. But do you think when they are in their 40's that they will still wear g-unit hats and drive around in fast cars, because that would be funny. Any thoughts on the subject?
dont let the blowin.blunts make u think less of all young stoners, there are some authentic young stoners out there who are peaceful and just like to chill with friends while listening to some good music. but there does seem to be an infestation of wanna-b white rapper kids who think there cool for listening to rap, and are always braggin about how much better their weed is than ours.
Yes you are so right!!!!!!! But the thing is to learn from them...... Like every time I see my uncle we always end up talking about music in depth or what we last contemplated when high...... I live for rock music and sooner or later that will be my job but still I think I should have been in the late eighties or early ninties back when the rap people had real lyrics and rock and rap could live together!!!!!! I still listen to the clash and the sex pistols the pixies and the rolling stones!!!! Plus floyd but I think music is a good indication of your stoner style!!!!
For what it's worth (and I'm 40) there was a lot of animosity between punks and hippies, and so, stoners were more concious of ourselves as a group. That might have stayed with us as we grew up; a kind of feeling that we were the very very very last dying breath of the 1960's. Then the 80's just sucked the soul out of America.
There are a couple of old hippies that I go chill with for a couple of hours, like once a week. They are brothers, and man let me tell ya, do they have some stories or what! It's pretty cool to just get em' stoned and bullshit with them and hear their stories! And actually, I don't really hang out with anyone under the age of 20ish, and the group i hang out with are all chill so i don't have to worry about being around annoying stoners!
I think it all depends on the person. I've met way too many old stoners who feel like immature ego driven kids. Then there are so many young stoners focused so much on impressing other people and doing so many stupid things to get themselves into unnecessary trouble. It really depends.
Gosh What a question, old stoners were quietly crude, young stoners are just crude, they have no class. Old stoners bared it all, in a really beautiful way, young stoners all have plummer butt pants, and have no respect well maybe not all of them. But being an old stoner is hard, getting stoned can sometimes, stoners can get caught up in a rut and not grow as people "stagnat" some get on with life and enjoy getting high, but fuction too. I know both kinds, cuz I am a old hippie
Personally i kinda think we morph into old stoner status quo... We were teenagers once too n we did alot of the same shit but as we age, marry, divorce, have kids, get careers etc, our priorities morph more into that role on a whole.. We cant act like complete fucktards around the lil ones.We realize work comes first, n cant act like a douche bag etc and on a whole our personalities just mellow out over the years..,,, again nice to see input from other older folks in here

Yes, Jay Z is about 40 I think and he wears Rocawear clothes and drives fast cars i think. Wait somebody else is driving and he in the back seat gettin chauffered. Ofcourse his style of clothes changed to more of a mature look but still can wear his rocawear hat with his suit to business meetings. I personally prefer smoking up with the older stoners. They have all these cool techniques that are "out-dated" because our generation never knew it. My dad taught me how to french inhale when I was 16 with a joint on our backporch. It was fourth of July and we were smoking and watching the fireworks. I ono, I just like the older hippies.
Thanks for your input guys, and nice to see some old stoners here too. I tried not to sterotype but I kind of expected more of a backlash. Good to see some people agree with me. Its not that I was trying to diss rap music, its just that If I think of all the people who smoked pot at my school, most of them dropped out and work dead end jobs, and it just so happens that most of them dressed as gangsters and drove fast cars. And yeah I guess most people would call me lame because I go to art galleries and read books and stuff, but I dont care.
I know you aint dissing rap music you dissing a whole culture of hip hop not just the music part. Be educated on what you are speaking of first. Not just book education but pay attention to other walks of life instead of yours only and stop judgin and dissin people. I don't think i fit in that gangster crowd u talking about but i'm sure if you see me you probably would say that i am. But i still be on these hipforums with all this hate and stereotyping of hiphop is going on. and all this hippie blippie boo ha stuff. I respect it and am aware people are living like this. i think it's all about who were influenced from. back when old stoners were young stoners, they saw were influenced by stoners like bob dylan, grateful dead, bob marley, and all those other chill stoners. today, all we see is gangstas smoking dope, so naturally kids are gonna start acting like they're a bunch of gangstas. personally i've never found rap music enjoyable when high, but that's just me. i like the artists i listed above, and tend to be influenced by them more than anything. but i agree with everyone else who said old stoners rock, and i think it's because of one main reason, they don't smoke to be cool or fit in. most old people actually cover up the fact that they smoke weed and only really open up once they're comfortable knowing you know they smoke dope. as far as old stoners i know, all i got is a 50 something year old relative from calgary. i've only met him once, and he seems like a total hippy, and i think next time he comes to my town i gotta light him up.
im 17 i drive a 68' mustang and i smoke weed pretty much everyday. i hate rap, i wear my pants at my waist, and i am not ghetto. I hate all the fuckin people all ridin in their fuckin scrapers and shit like that. Especially over here in bay area cali everyone is turnin ghetto and it sux, me and my friends try to stay away from that side of the stoner community. But i do agree older people are way better stoners, they r my idolz
