Just stick with pot, the risks of spice/spice gold/chillin xxx and all those blends that get you as high (if not higher) than weed outweigh the benefits of them. None of those companies actually have to (by law) list all the ingredients. As far as anyone knows there could be chemicals in them (i have heard chillin xxx smells very chemical) accounting for the strong high. If you actually need the herbs for other reasons (job/drug tests/paranoia of getting in legal trouble) then just buy some herbs and maybe a vaporizer and make your own blends (you can PM me for more info on that). The forums over at ganjatalk have had several threads in which well-respected "herbal smokers" have voiced their opinions on spice/spice-a-likes (galaxy blends, etc) and their potential dangers/negative affect on the herbal scene as a whole.
i just smoked some chillin xxx, i also have a pack of spice gold. The xxx smells strongly of clove and cinnimon, no chemicals. The taste, however, has a mild chemical chlorine like flavor but only first hit, and very mild. The high is EXTREMELY similar to a STRONG sativa. This blend really works, aswell as spice gold, spice gold requires a little more to be smoked, and is a more mellow high. And does not taste of chemicals. But if you are having to take drugtests by law like i am, i would highly suggest it for the meanwhile.
Of course there is chemicals. They are what get you high with all drugs! Silly person... ... but you're right nobody does know the dangers really. Could be no worse than pot, could be better than pot, could be 100x worse. Oh well, I shall keep smoking anyway.
Yer, I wouldn't substitute anything for pot for long-term use. I would reccomend trying a blend every now and then. The only ones that weren't that weak were spice, chillin and the chill blend from IAmShaman (which was a bit weaker than spice/chillin, but the ammount you get evens out the weakness). I would stick to the ganja!
Ok, people have been smoking pot for years so we already know how it will or will not be good for you for the most part. This spice shit is crap and for the price you might as well buy pot. If you really need to get high that bad then you should not be smoking anything at all. Take a break. This trend of smoking any old thing is not a good idea.
