i kind of dislike that the majority of good beer glasses have logos on them. i would like to have a nice collection of specialty beer glasses sans advertisements. i love my delirium tremens glass, but i dont use it JUST for that beer.

it would be cool to have a GOOD set of plain glasses apart from your normal pints, pilsners, mugs, and snifters....

i DO have a nice unmarked wiezen glass......but apart from mugs and a pint glass, thats about it. everything is mostly logos....lindeman's, delirium tremens, samuel adams octoberfest (though in reality its simply a dimpled .5L mug), ommegang, guinness pints, samuel smith pint...then theres the isle of jura whisky glasses, but thats somethting else. also jagermeister glasses and a pewter jagermeister shot glass......

all in all i have more proper drinkware with logos than without.

most of what i drink out of thats not a beer glass is 1/2 pint mason jars

My buddy's having people over so I'll probably be sipping some Wild Turkey as usual. I dont have an ID yet so I havent got to try many different types of bourbon, but boy do I love my Wild Turkey. Also my friend said he bought some Sam Adams Black Lager to try so I'll probably try that since I love a good schwarzbier, and I hear the Sam Adams version is pretty legit.

thats one of the better samuel adams offerings in my opinion

i'd personally recommend it very slightly chilled, not quite room temperature but certainly not ice cold

This is what I have been drinking out of since repeatedly breaking proper glassware; remnants of terrariums, organic brown rice, and a pressure canner that now has a cracked lid.

makers mark is, without a doubt, the best way to go at it.

    mmmm

well, i had today off, so i went to the store and got a few beers for today.

primary beverage of the evening is one of the first examples of biere de garde i've tried, though its made by an american brewery. domaine dupage, by two brothers. its pretty good, i'm on my second bottle of it.

i also got a bottle of st peter's english ale, which i thought was pretty good. among the better english pale ales i've tried, though possibly not the best.

i also have a bottle of korbinian, the doppelbock offered by weihenstephaner (like salvator is made by paulaner and optimator is made by spaten)

i think this is the first german dopplebock that didnt have a name which ends in "-ator."

anyway, i look forward to it, and i look forward to more of this domaine dupage...though it could be just a touch hoppier

Yeah it's the first Bear Republic beer I've tried and I was pretty impressed. Smoother (almost sweeter) than other IPA's I've had lately. My brother finally picked up a pack after trying a few times unsuccessfully as they've been selling out fast in our area.

oh cool i've been looking at that bottle at the store for a while but simply haven't gotten around to trying it yet. i'll have to pick it up soon.

tonight i'm finally trying jacobsen saaz blonde. its not what i expected, and i was completely unaware that it contained angelica root extract.....and its a little too thin. but overall its a good beer, just not the best.

i also had reissdorf kölsch for the first time tonight, and i was very pleased with it.

had a bottle of mochshoff schwarzbier, tasty as always....

and in a couple hours i'll have my last one.....maharaja imperial ipa....one of my all time favorite double ipas, and in fact among my favorite beers...i can't wait :)

i got that once and wasn't overly impressed with it, and found salvator and celebrator to both be much more to my personal preference. still a good beer, it just didnt do it for me. i need to give it another chance, though, because i've only tried it the one time.

right now i've got a pack of samuel adam's double bock, which i think is pretty decent....first time trying it, though. i'd still say i'd prefer salvator or celebrator, but i do like it alright.

along with sam adams doppelbock i've got a small bottle of st bernardus tripel (sipping on this right now) and a small bottle of st bernardus prior 8
