What do you guys think about Opus Dei? I was speaking to someone on this forum who is almost part of them and from what she said it seems ok. Do you see it as any different to any other Catholic tradition - apart from self mortification that is.
Ehh.. most of what I know of them comes from The Da Vinci Code, so I can't entirely vouch for its accuracy. But from what I've read, they seem to be an even more freako-wacky bunch of nutcases than mainstream catholics, and that's saying something!
From what I know about them, they try and keep God the focus in everything they do in their daily lives. So I guess you would have to be pretty devout. I think Catholocism is pretty strict and intense, but Opus Dei don't seem to have widespread problems, I mean no one had really heard of them before The Da Vinci Code. I think it's pretty interesting!
