HELLO People i am new here, plz anser this.

im new here 2 this forum, i came here for sum advice even though i feel ashamed of telling this. i have starting masturbating since i was 15yrs old, i am now 18. i am trying to stop this, but i cant its become a bad habbit. (like smoking - but i dont smoke and never will). anyway the reason y i want to stop masturbating and thingking of porn etc.. is because:

1. its against my religion
2. it makes me feel as if im desperate
3. i never used to feel like this, i never was interested in porn or madturbation or women etc.., - but that doesnt mean im gay (and im not).

is there anyway i can stop doing this, anyway i can get all this sexual stuff out of my mind and leave it for the future (when im married of course).?

Write in big letters NO on either the front or back of your hand. THis way it will remind you constantly throughout the day, even when your not thinking about it. It will remind you about what your trying to stop. If anyone asks, say your trying to quit a bad habit. It will take time and restraint.

If you ask any of the religious leaders / priests who claim that masturbation is sinful, to show you precisely where in their scriptures it says that this is the case, I can pretty much guarantee they will be at a loss to do so.

The main one in Catholicism, where they use the story of Onan, with the altogether misinterpreted phrase of "Spilling Seed On Barren Ground" - but if you look into the rest of the story of that case you will find that it refers to Onan using the Withdrawal Method to avoid getting his brother's widow pregnant, when it was his sacred duty to father a son for her if his brother died without issue. This has no reference to masturbation whatsoever, and furthermore, the Withdrawal Method is the one type of contraception that the Catholic Church approves of - try asking your priests why that is the case.

Any religion that requires celibacy of its leaders has no place in laying down the rules of anything involving sex or masturbation - especially when you look at the high incidence levels of child molestation by Catholic Priests. It makes you wonder if this is a Chicken / Egg situation - i.e. Is it more in the nature of a potential child molester to be more likely to becomes a priest, or does the self enforced vow of celibacy do something to the mind to drive them that way?

Take my advice - ask your priest outright to show you where it says anything in the Bible that forbids you from masturbating, and I can guarantee you that he won't be able to.

Plus, any religion that preaches of a loving God that is supposed to have created Man in His own image, along with all the related desires, along with the ability to enjoy some harmless self stimulation, and then claims that this ability is sinful is, if anything, stating that this God has a cruel sadistic streak by providing the ability & then forbiding you from participating in it.

Masturbation is natural &, as such, has a purpose inasmuch as it keeps the sperm count high & reduces the risk of prostate cancer. To even attempt to deny yourself the pleasure is to turn against nature, and most religions will agree that what is natural is Godly - so to turn against masturbation is to turn against God.

 

That is great advice, PineMan. There is nothing wrong with what the OP is doing, and it is nothing to be ashamed of. If anyone is making this guy feel guilty about this, they are the ones who should be ashamed.

For your information PineMan, it's a proven fact that celibate Catholic priests don't have a higher incidence level of child molestation or rape than Baptist or Protestant pastors, and even Rabbis who, in some cases, have many children. But of course, with the Church being persecuted as it is, the media are prompt in taking every opportunity they can to put the Church down and use naivety to influence people.

As far as the celibacy requirement, yes, it is in the Bible:

Matthew 19:12:
For there are eunuchs who have been born incapable of marriage; and there are eunuchs who have been made so by men; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves incapable of marriage for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.

1 Corinthians 7:
32My desire is to have you free from all anxiety and distressing care. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord--how he may please the Lord;
33But the married man is anxious about worldly matters--how he may please his wife.

I think the text and context are very clear.

 

Nothing in any of those includes any mention of the prohibition of masturbation though.

For that matter, being unmarried doesn't, strictly speaking, mean celibate either, but that's off topic.

 

If you stop masterbating, your body will just do it for you.

just think of it like this.
When your in the shower, you need to wash your dick, so you slowly start to rub it and your wet creamy soapy hands, up...down..up..down and you gradually get faster and faster realising you soon have to go out and as you increase the speed and intensity..and you suddenly squirt, you realise you got the wrong time, adn there was no need to rush while you were 'washing' your dick and you can now relax and enjoy the sensation that just passed =D
