    Hi all,

I have always had some desire to adopt a vegetarian diet, although the convience of meat products has been my main weakness.

However, I have recently found out my cholestrol has been raised almost 60 pts in four months (although not due to my food choices) so now I have the motivation to stick to a vegetarian diet or rather, a vegan diet. Many animal products such as eggs and dairy products contain cholestrol, which I am trying to remove from my diet.

Vegans- please help me learn what foods may seem vegan but contain animal products. Also, for those who are familar w/ dietary facts, please help me identify products that contain cholestrol that are also vegan (if there are any).

On Tuesday, I plan to set up an appointment with both a medical doctor and a dietician. Until then, please help me w/ my new diet.

    Peace and love

Cholesterol is an animal product as far as I know. I don't know of any veggie foods that have cholesterol in them. Fast food contains high levels of triglycerides in them. When I stopped eating fast food my triglyceride numbers dropped almost in half. I've never had a cholesterol problem but the triglycerides were extremely high.

I'm pretty sure there is a link at the top of the page for newby veggies.

    Good Luck.
