Does anyone know anything about them? They are also known as ICC? Would be really good if anyone could help!
It's an offshoot of the Churches of Christ that started as a "back to first century Christianity" movement , but became controversial, as a result of very aggressive evangelism, a centralized & somewhat dictatorial leadership structure, and cult-like practices of mind control involving the coupling of new recruits with "disciplers" who act as minders or monitors of the recruit's private life. New recruits were encouraged to confess their sins to the disciplers, who would pass the info on to chucrch leaders, who in turn would use it to confront and browbeat the recruits. In 2003, the Church went through an internal upheaval, leading to the disbanding of the central leadership. The new, decentralized church has some reformed congregations that have tried to correct the previous abuses, and some more conservative congregations that haven't changed much.
