hay dudes heres the deal me and 4 of my mates are planning a trip to amsterdam and we will be doing alot of ganja and alot of mushies but what we don't know is who much a two week trip would cost. we are staying in a camp site so we know that but the things we don't know are
    cost of fuel
    cost of food and drink
cost of weed shrooms and space cakes
cost of things like clubs and sites
so if anyone could tell us how much money we would need per person that would be great and if you've been i would love to hear some stories or is you know something we sould go and see thanks

    WOW...GREEN HURTS EYES...

Okay, first off, take a gander at the exchange rates before your trip. (www.xe.com has a simple converter.) The Euro keeps gaining value against the dollar, so things keep getting more expensive. Today, it's about $1.45 per Euro, so multiply these numbers by 1.45 to get the cost in dollars.

Here are some numbers (in Euros) from my last trip in September:

Cost of Fuel: Before I answer this one - are you guys renting a car? I wouldn't. Public transport in Amsterdam is fantastic, and a LOT cheaper. About 7 Euros gets you a tram ticket that'll get you anywhere you need to go in the city for a couple of days. You can get one at almost any convenience store. (Ask for a Strippenkaart.) This is a much better way to see the city, and you won't be driving while enjoying other pleasures of the city. Over a 2 week period, you'll use maybe 5-6 of these cards, or (better yet) there are 2 week passes good for the tram, the metro, and the heavy trains. I think www.GVB.nl has details.

Cost of Food: a Big Mac value meal costs about 5 Euro. A good steak dinner will set you back about 25-30 Euro. Try FEBO for some cheap eats - you can eat for under 5 Euro there. (it's a classic automaat, with food in little doors.) Beer is about 3 Euro for a glass. Coke is about the same at sit down restaurants. Don't expect to find a 64-ouncer of Coke anywhere - the Coke only comes in small bottles.

If you budget 50-60 Euros for the fun herbal stuff, you should be just fine. My favorite spot in the center of town is Abraxas, next to the SupperClub. 10-15 buys some nice smoke, 15 will get you a space cake, and a tub of fresh shrooms at a smart shop will set you back about 20.

Clubs and sites - this is all subjective, depending on what you like to do.
