I am planning to spend 6 months or more in Germany working, as I like Germany and I want to improve my German. I can transfer with my company and have quite a bit of flexibility as to where I go. I have only been to Hamburg (1 month) and Berlin (5 months) before and I would like to try somewhere new. Can anyone help me with advice?

I want to live in a city with more approx 500,000 people or more, and that is close to interesting surroundings (e.g. mountains, scenery, other countries). I have thought about Munich, Nuremburg, Leipzig, Cologne. I only have my guide books to read about the places though! I like live music, clubs, friendly pubs, cycling, walking, travelling, football, sports. I am 26.

A specific question I have - do people work very long hours in Munich?

    Thank you!

Berge, andere Laende). Ich habe ueber Muenchen, Nuernberg, Leipzig, Koeln gedacht. Ich habe nur Reisefuhrer Buche zu lesen. Ich mag live Musik, Clubs, freundliche Kneipe, radfahren, wandern, farhen, Sport. Ich bin 26.

Eine besonderes Frage - arbeitet Leute viele Stunden in Muenchen?

    (Entschuldigung fuer meine Sprache Fehler!)

    Vielen Dank.

i'm living here since 99 and love that colourful city.
we have lots of parks, lots of clubs with music and cafes all over the place.
spring, summer and fall are really the seasons you should be here.
you could hang out in the park or go swiming in the lakes close by.

if you like the mountains there will be the so called saxonian switzerland, which is about an hour and a half train ride away from here.
from here you could visit poland and the czeck republic. prague is not that far away either.

there are lots of interesting cities here in germany, i bet lots of them i didn't even discovered yet myself.
enjoy your time here no matter which city you chose. have fun and keep the spirit!
    hope
