Exactly one year from today (unless impeachment, assassination or an act of God speeds up the process) we will be inaugurating a new president. This new president might be good, might be bad, or might be irrelevant, but the bottom line is it won’t be George W. Bush. The reign of error will be over at long last. Hallelujah!

    *claps*

“Think about that. She's running against nobody and nobody gets 40% of the vote. The other 5% of the vote went to three other people. 27,924 votes went to the guy who believes in UFOs, the guy who dropped out and the guy who last held public office somewhere around 1855.”

come come, I don't even think George W. Bush knows who George W. Bush is, much less any of us.

I can't imagine anything much changing, as a president is pretty much a public face chosen by the people who put them there. Bush and his cronies just seemed really bad because of their cartoonish supervillain vibe.

Nothing's going to change at all unless someone who's not a member of the Establishment is elected-Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, people like that. At this point, that's about as likely to happen as us being colonized by the Planet Zartron 6.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are as popular as they are because many people perceive them as being 'different'-mainly because one is a woman and the other is black (or part black). Whoopdee-fucking-doo. The fact is that they're both part of the same Establishment that Bush and his buddies belong to. The only 'difference' is in appearance, and that's the extent of it.

I'd like to think that all we need to do is get Bush out of office and everything would be different. The reality, I'm afraid, is quite the opposite.

The President is not all powerful. If you like Congressmen like Paul and Kucinich then concentrate on getting more people like them into Congress. Then we can see real change.

To set the record straight, I don't expect miracle changes to occur a year from now. I'd like to believe that things will start to improve gradually, but I'm not holding my breath. And I fully realize that saying the next president will be better than the current one isn't saying much. Christ, how can he/she miss?!!

STILL, NOT ONE OF YOU, NOT EVEN PRESSED RAT, CAN TELL ME IT WON'T MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD TO SEE THE DUMBASS DOUCHEBAG STEP DOWN!
