Something like that. We will be a small mobile group of Rainbows. (far from a mobile Gathering, but I'd like to see it turn into that in the future) We will be having councils at night and possibly in the morning. We will be discussing the future of rainbow and issues that partain to the Gathering, it's growth, and the welcoming of new comers. We are hoping to have an elder along for the first couple days to share with us the nature of early Rainbow Gatherings, so we have a sturdy foundation to begin brainstorming. Anyone is welcome. Please email: brotherbrianlove@yahoo.com if you are interested. Thanx alot for the question, -- BBL
I'm in St.Pete and all these wonderful interesting beautiful people have started filtering through the burg on their way...I was sorely tempted to beg my way onto the free kids bus but Ween is coming to town on the 1st. So I guess I'll be home on the 2nd!!!! peace devi

“A friend is a friend who knows what being a friend is. Talking with a friend, as friends We were always so close but so far away. Friends in life are special, do you want me as your special friend? ‘Cause you’re the friend that I’ve been searching for.” oh yes...i would like to be a special friend to ween...heh heh heh!!!
Due to certain obligations, I can't be in FLA for too long...but I was wondering if anybody will be there the weekend of Feb 8th.....
I'll be hanging around the Suwannee Valley Campground in White Springs, FL... until Wed or Thurs. So if anyone else want to hike the FL Trail to Ocala, just drop me an email, when you can be here, and get on the road. I'll be extremely happy to have another couple people. We're off to a late start, but better late than never. Happy Trails, brotherbrianlove@gmail.com http://www.drugsanddreams.com/Rainbow%20Trail/Rainbow%20Trail.html
one of my friends sent me a bulletin about ocala...he got back from council today! MESSAGE FROM: FLICKERFEATHER Back from the Ocala Council with a report Body: Hello friend's and family in regards of the Ocala Council. You be surprise but this was the largest scout council ever for the Ocala Gathering. I honestly felt more love there then I have felt in long time from any gathering for long time. We went to our favorite site under Farles Island Oak tree hammock and I showed many new faces our favorite place to council in the Ocala Woods then we circled and Om and I passed the pine cone around and told people my name and where do I live and pass the cone and suggest that we move the cone around this way so everyone felt that they had said there name and where there from before we spoke our heart song. I had wish I had spoken more but perhaps I said exactly what need to be said and perhaps had I spoke any more I would have said the wrong things. I try just answer some of there question's and speak in broad terms not to offend anyone. I open up the Ocala National Forest map and made suggestion to few good place's to look for a site and hope that it will direct them to good site. At the end of Sunday I felt that lot folks were really happy that I was there and could over some suggestion to site and told them despite the fact that there was lack of elders or folks that had done the Ocala Gathering a lot that once in 1972 in Colorado that those folks were doing it for first time that they had clear headed people work out problems and that this year these folks could do the same despite the fact that number folks that family depended on work out problems with Forest Service's and site's and Water were not there that they could do this. Also I saw this weekend a pickup truck doing water runs that I was impressed at how they already solve a water probem. Some folks that have decide not be at this gathering and did not make it to council would be surprise at some of comments that came from the family at council. I think there is perhaps hope for this gathering for family that are on the land find good site . If I not at the gathering this year, it will be because I need work and not for any other reason. I really like be there for them and despite all mistakes family does I still want the best for them. Saturday some distance from the council site a fire broke out and we collectively put the fire out. It was not as bad as last year fire but it still took us 2 hours put the fire out and I was still scared by this fire when I first started try put out the fire I was scared. someone called the fire department and a large Marion county fire truck got stuck in the sugar sand and the Helicopter with bucket to put out fire just as we hand the fire almost out but it dump water on fire area 3 times but we could have put the fire out our selves and we were within a minute from putting it out when Fire department and Forest Service Fire department came to put out the fire. but when we first saw the fire we were not sure If we get the fire under control. This does not help us at all these fire make us look really bad but the land is really dry and now and this upcoming gathering we really should not allow personal fires only camp fires where large camps like Kitchens, camps with 10 more people where proper fire pits and fire safety are practice. I also very concern about someone speaking to the Forest Service in behalf of the family that person not me but I hope someone will work in our behalf for this gathering . I most likely not going be at this year gathering and never have spoken to the Forest Services and I don't feel like I can work as a legal person for the family and work with the Forest Service when I 150 miles from the gathering and flat broke and no moeny to even make phone call talk to them. I also concern at fact large number of people at this council express desire of no permit. However there was a number people that express they like family look into us having a permit because they like see us have peace with the forest service and for people to enjoy the gathering This council was open council and that no one tried to control or direct the outcome of this council and I very proud of the family . I want to say however I missed my friends that have help make the Florida Gathering so great and hope that they reconsider about the Florida Ocala Gathering as they not here this year realize they miss it and want play role in keeping the Ocala Gathering the Best and largest Regional Rainbow Gathering. thanks Family
I'm heading to Florida in the morning. Leaving wintery Syracuse,N.Y. to play my role in keeping the Ocala Gathering the Best and largest Loving Regional Gathering. So come on down,up or sideways and join me in Sunny,Warm(can get a little cold at night,so come prepared),but with all the Love that will be present, you'll keep warm. I'll be the old, long hair, bearded Hippie with a prosthetic leg(can't tell until you see me in shorts) which I hope will be plenty of times, and my presence will be mostly be around Front Gate, so no need to worry Uncle Al will be there to Welcome you all Home. "Happy Trails" and see you in Ocala.
Flickerfeather's a great guy, and all, but did anyone go to that council who knows how to write? The plus side of his...ummm...unique literary style.....is that it serves as its own authenticization code. Anybody that's familiar with FF's writing knows this report is really his.
Yup, Noah and I sat across from FF & we actually took notes till the rains came. Here they are on my Site: http://ohhotrod.tripod.com/jhanaclass2.htm Here are some emails, etc maybe better. I keep memberin' stuff. Darn short term memory loss. IMHO, The "Age of Aquarious" has "A Quarry'd On Out" as Rainbow is getting what it needs for the newer times. A fresh young Family that walked our footsteps & are keeping with tradition have been led by the land to continue saving whats left and to teach those following in their footsteps. I saw ALL Family in Council, Road Family, A-Camp, Housies & Hermies. I believe the folks that attended council and those that didnt... made it the very possible reason RAINBOW will continue & I dont see ever going away. This Rainbow council beat any workshop, class, event, show, etc. I've been to in a long time, And the year has just begun !!!!!!! Tradin' Bill a.k.a. Fla_Hippy ---------------------------------------------------------- 1st OCALA SITE COUNCIL: We had a Pine cone. ALL took a little bit and passed it around. BABYLON didnt come around. Younger Family asked where the elders stood, Past info on Site rotation & othe rinfo to get a CLEAR start on where to begin. It was decided early to have a 2nd council to decide the site to allow scouting and time to feel the land out and those that use it. Some sites were asked about (next in rotation, usable, non-usable), discussed and again confirmed to scout some more. Problems old and new were brought up tenderly & knowledge of POISON'S were taught to those mis-led. Now these are younger Family who have walked the walk with us & the care truly / clearly showed. The rains came and I left with Noah who was taking notes for me. I Love my Family!!! Tradin' Bill a.k.a. Fla_Hippy http://ohhotrod.tripod.com/rainbow/rainbow.html I see a need for teachers as our young are asking to be taught. Bless those standing for Knowledge !!!! -Tradin' Bill
i am probably what you would call one of those "crusties" that shows up to ocala. . and i may call u a schmuck for blaming us. on one hand ya..there are lame dirty kids but there are also tons of shitty hippy posers. on the other hand anyone that labels me a crusty can't understand americas subcultures too well. just because im dirty n ri;e trains doesnt make me shit n i dont know any self respectin kid that labels themself. i would more blame the copius amounts of meth that surfaces at this specific gathering. all my love to every dedicated person who makes ocala possible each year GET NAKED WHEN YOU GET THE BLUES/
Fork-n-Susan will be taking a sit down approach on the side line this year. We have put so much in for so many years. Maybe we just need a brake this year. So we will pay for a safe camping experience at the RHT site. We will come to eat & drum with family! On weekends We love our family! & wish all well much love fork-n-sue
:H What the word from the forest service is that Buck Lake is leased for 50 people. Brother Ray is at Alexander Springs...The site rotation is 24/27 but not permit requests other than for Buck Lake 2-14/28. Try calling the FS ocf...they give info for free...ALSO the LEO's, FS , Lake, Marion and the Florida Sheriff Assoc. is on alert...no permit...LOTS OF COP!!!
