I like these guys i find you either really like or totally hate em. Although did go all mainstreem towards the end during the earlier years like "nothings shocking" and stuff like that they actaully created some rather interesting sounds. Dave Navvaro i find to be an underrated guitarist.. some might think not at all due their commercail success but thats just the thing they just expect it to be what they expect it to be. But listen to tracks like "Ocean Size" "Three Days" etc you hear what im saying Navvaro can make some mean guitar solos... especially in Three Days a 8 something minute track and towards the middle dave goes into a good 3 minute something guitar solo its totally awesome and i find there it good for their time as it still sounds fresh today and they dared to mix the alternative with heavy metal "late 80's" which at the time u were either one of the other and never both.
I was a Jane's FREAK in the early/mid 90's and their music could easily kick the asses of many ALT/ROCK(whatever)bands today......You have excellent taste SYF!
I love Jane's Addiction. Ritual de lo Habitual is a great album. They're another band you like that I've wanted to get more into. I don't think I've listened to their earliest work, but I'll definitely remember to check it out.
it's a band that i wanted to like but never really could. but Three Days is indeed an awesome piece of music.
