Seconded.. well, fourthed. Nightwish, Sugarcoma, Kittie, basically any metal/gothic band with a female vocalist is good.
Ednaswap was awesome until their last album (they're gone now). Also, the Nymphs, although I've only gotten to listen to like 4 of their songs. They're a lot harder to define. Glam Punk or grunge or goth...
i would also have to say Jefferson Airplane, Grace Slicks voice is just pure heaven also the singer from the Sundays is pretty good too
I do rather like Dresden Dolls. I've heard a little horrorpops and really liked what I heard.. I'll have to look into getting some. Of course Heart's a definite one. I've always liked Janis. Evanescence was mentioned eariler and I'll admit to liking Amy Lee's voice a lot. Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane, Norah Jones, Ani Difranco, Joni Mitchell, Meg sings some White Stripes' songs. There are some gems out there.
Paramore, Evanescense, within Temptation Shiny toy guns Flyleaf No doubt(even tho there not a band anymore, they use to be good) and uhh... there's probably more.
Fleetwood Mac Evanescence Flyleaf Paramore Lacuna Coil Nightwish No doubt Oh yeah, and Heart! That's all I can think of for now but I'm sure there are more.
Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Pentangle, Jefferson Airplane, Siena Root, Shocking Blue, Dead Can Dance and Witch are my favourites I can think of right now.
I know, she's old and doesn't appear much in public anymore. In my book, other than Janis Joplin, no female rocker has yet come close to Grace Slick. White Rabbit - Grace Slick, Jefferson Airplane http://youtube.com/watch?v=6xhYk9PEmXA
You got that right,friend....I saw them live...Johnette is so small in stature....but,holy crap can she belt it out!!!
Unfortunately, she is deceased but if based on range, and power of delivery....EVA CASSIDY........hands down.
