Britney Spears "Gimme more" turned into a downtempo acoustic tune

Hey you guys. I just covered Britney Spear's infamous "Gimme More."

Tell me what you think! I liked the song... (unfortunately i'm the ONLY one who liked the song in my close group of friends)...so i thought i'd cover it and add a little bit of soul to it.

I actually enjoyed this. I'm a big fan of taking a standard dance-style pop tune and presenting it at its basic core - without all the studio trickery that kind of drowns out all the elements that actually make a song (ie, melody). The Flaming Lips did it with Kylie Minogue's "I Just Can't Get You Out of My Head" and there was that guy on youtube who did the excellent acoustic version of "Hey Ya!". I'm not sure that "Gimme More" has quite the same effect, but it was still an interesting take on the song. Good job.

 

I love the song when I'm high...actually the whole c.d. I do think she could have used less of the studio stuff though.
