Just made some potent-looking honey oiL

Yep, I did. I made it using an old pill bottle I had lying around. I just packed it with 4g of weed, made some holes in the bottom for a sort-of sive, and a hole in the top for the butane can to fit into.

I ended up getting it everywhere (mostly on the plate, but a lot on my hands) so I licked it off. I don't know if regular hash would get someone high, but I'm pretty sure I can feel it.

Anyways, it was my first attempt at honey oil and it worked good enough for me... Anyone else ever have a messy time doing this?

OH and I did it outside in the freezing canadian cold... I'm not stupid enough to be doing this anywhere sheltered.

ive made it about 4 times now and 3 times it turned out pretty good. 2 times i used a this PVC pipe with caps that i made and it worked great. the other times i had to use a coke bottle and it didnt turn out to good. ive just saved up stems for the times that i have done it but a friend of mine got an ounce of old leaves and that got the most but still nothing to huge.

it is some really messy shit after the butane evaporates. its hard to scrape the shit out of the bowl or whatever you run it into. i scraped out as much as i possibly could and then i just heated the bowl a little and wiped the rest out with some buds LOL. i havnt used really good stems or leaves so it wasnt a nice golden color but it was pretty potent shit. its alot different high then it would have been just smoking the leaves. and i figure with stems they get thrown away anyways so why not try getting something worth smoking out of them.

 

Damn I love oil. I've never made butane oil, just iso (I'm lazy, lol). Odds are the most-stoned I've ever been was a few weeks ago when we rolled a double-hash blunt. I pitched some iso hash I made from my tahoe blue, another buddy put in a gram of sour diesel he had laying around, and a third guy I don't know well wiped the inside leaf of the dutch with his honey oil... I didn't walk away from that one.

 

so u just pack a little bottle of some sort with weed, blast some butane into it and u got oil?

 

^Pretty much,you then let the butane evaporate and scrape the hash off the plate. Make sure to use butane that has no extra scents added (they do this so people know if there is a leak).

 

me either my friend does this but ive never seen it. Im gonna ask him about it.

That's iso, it takes about 20 minutes.

Butane extraction does make for a tasty booger

In real basic terms: the butane/alcohol molecules bond to the THC, then you allow the butane/alcohol to evaporate and you're left with oil/hash, which is really, really strong.

 

ummmmm ok this is extremely simple IMO. butane washes through the marijuana and the THC dissolves into the butane same with isopropyl alcohol. its the same principal as like koolaid only THC isnt water soluable. butane hash oil is alot faster and SAFIER then the iso method. you need to boil isopropyl alcohol over a hear source (most probably use electric stove but its much more dangerous if you only have a gas stove) of some sort so its much more dangerous. it takes alot longer to evaporate isopropyl alcohol then it does butane. butane evaporates at a really low temperature so all you need is a bowl of hot water mush less risk of explosions. also isopropyl alcohol is alot more harmful to your health if you dont get all of it evaporated before you smoke it. butane is in all lighters that we smoke from so wouldnt you think it would be better.

whoever it was that said they were to lazy to use the butane method is a moron (no offence) because its much much MUCH less effort involved in the butane method. you run the butane through into a bowl set that bowl into a bigger bowl with hot water and like 10 minutes later your smoking some BHO (Butane Hash Oil).

Edit: to the poster above me you wouldnt need to smoke much and you get blasted. ive only makde it a few times with just stems and crappy leaves and we didnt smoke much and we got super high. the better the pot used the more potent the oil will be which in turn you would need to smoke less.

 

The only reason I don't like the butane extraction method is the cost of butane. Try to get the purer butane too btw less contaminants. Fun stuff though.

 

OK guys got a link for ya. Wasn't even looking for it i was over at another site looking through grow journals and noticed this guy had a link for a DIY PVC pipe BHO extractor. Simple, cheap, and efficeint! Ill probably get some supplies to make one using his instructions in the near future here.......anywho, here is the link. Check it out!
