what have people found successful in starting them outdoors? last year i tried germinating inside then transplanting and it was such a great shock on them they died, so this year i want to actually have some plants to save myself some money. would you recommend starting them in a pot? I plan on planting them in the woods behind my house, if needed I'll go camp out to take care of them, I'll probably camp out when its harvest time so i can dry them in the tent. i'd just like to know how each person grows outdoors, and about failures/ successes/ first time/ advice. Thank You for helping me out i really really want a few like 2 or 3 plants outside this season, thank you, thank you, thank you!
I've grown outdoors for 2 or 3 years now. Heres exactly what I do. -I first find an area that used to be a river. You have to make sure that when it rains, the river bed wont fill up. The reason I use a river bed is because thats were you can find some of the richest soil there is. It has plenty of nutrients and moisture to make your little seed grow tall. You need to make sure that the bed isn't too rocky though. I then clear a 2 sq. ft. area around were i'm planting the seed. I also pull out and de-root any other weeds around it to make sure they don't interfere. I then dig 1/2 inch down and plant the seed. Simple as that. I also bring a bottle of water with some added nutrients for each of the seedlings (just for an added boost). Next I walk about 10 ft. down the riverbed and plant another. Last growing season I sucessfully grew 5 plants out of the 7 seeds I planted. This year i'll plant around 20 (just because I know this location is secure). The hardest period of growth is from when your seed first germinates through the first 3 weeks (in my opinion). You need to make sure that it doesn't get trampled or covered with leaves. You also need to make sure animals don't start nibblin' on your shit. Soo... if your a hunter, it's a two for one deal. Deer & Bud. MMMMmmm.
thanks, the place i was fixin to grow is near a creek, and what might you say about sunlight it is a forest so there are a lot of trees
