i was planning a heavy dose last night (7 hits) only to recieve news that my dog has collapsed and cannot get back up. her body had shut down completly within 20 minutes and she was put down. i will wait a few weeks to dose now and hopefully then i can have some kind of experience that will include my dog. was just not the right night to drop. she was 14 years old so she had a very good life, she was a wonderful dog right up until the end. if you have a dog, go outside a give it a nice big pat.
oh my heart goes out to you.....we put our dog down last year......i felt hollow. hubby said i was a different person after she died (not in a good way) i am so so sorry for you. good choice not to trip tonight. at first the idea of 'replacing' her seemed unfathomable--but i missed her so much (she was 12) but then we got 2 cats a few months later (you need 2 because they need the 'cat' company--pack animals) --anyway they saved me!!! they can never replace my dog but they do fill a void. sending you a big hug:hug:
get another dog. not as a replacement, but as a continuation of the dog that you loved. i think that animals all share a collective oversoul anyways. so she will still be there!
thanks for the posts everyone, i have a few other animals 2 cats and 2 dogs, 1 of my cats has cancer and will be put down over the next 2 weeks and one of the dogs wont live long now that this dog has died there a month apart in age and have been life long friends, she has no reason to stay around anymore, she kind of knows whats going on i think she seems quite depressive. i have my jack russel pup hes just over a year old now and keeping my hands full, very full of energy. these dogs are all i have left of my teenage years and it was like the end of an era to see her go. alas all good things must come to an end, even ourselfs and the other creatures that exist with us. all the best to you all hope yourselfs and yuor animals are well!
losing a pet is just as bad as a member of your own family. its alway comforting t now that there not in pain anymore.
Sorry to hear that, I like to think she has returned to the source now, whatever that may be . . . and I agree with the get another dog sentiment! Let your love for her live on in taking care of another living animal.
loosing a pet is like loosing a member of your family. when my 12 year old boxer died about three years ago i had been laying with her and i go up to help clean the kitchen and that is when she let go.....heh im tearing up just typing this. vibes to you my firiend
I lost my dog last october. He was only 10. He was my parents dog, but we got him when I was 15. I left home when I was 18 but I saw him almost every weekend. He brought so much joy and happiness into our lives. He made me appreciate animals and nature, I look at life so differently because of him. I still find it hard, we have many pictures of him and lots of videos, he was so loved and gave so much love. He was so good with my neices and nephews, he adored them and was so protective and patient with them. In the future I'd like to have dogs and cats, once I am more settled and I live in a bigger place I'll give them a good home. I don't think they'll ever replace him though. He was so special.
I still remember exactly the night my dog died. I was on the computer and my brother and sister came in crying and screaming and i was thinking what the fucks going on? They said my dog got hit by a car and i ran outside to check on the dog. He was dead and the asshole who hit him didnt even stop
It's always hard when someone dies, whether it be a pet, a family member or a friend. The important thing to remember, however, is that death is only the new beginning, where your dog will be free of all its wants and needs and will only have to exist as a point of consciousness. This is the moment that your friend has reached perfection.
my condolences, the_most_sadistic. i love my animal-friends...that must be pretty rough. When i was 8 i got a wild dog from the reservation up north...he was a stray that would come around sometimes and my grandma would feed him. he was very nice and a bit goofy so that's what we named him...Goofy. When we left the res we took him with us and after taking him to a doctor they said he had gotten liver poisoning...most likely from being fed alcohol on the res. a few weeks later i came home from school and he was laying on the back porch coughing. i pet him a few times and went inside to watch cartoons..i came out 15 minutes later and he was dead. i'd say it's these harder experiences in life that help to show you who you are and make you stronger as a result. i hope you find a good time for your plans! : )
oh man if my dog died I would cry. We found her in an alley when she was only 6 months old, we suspected she was abused so we kept her. Coolest dog we've ever had, she's getting real old now (11). I'm real sorry to hear about that the_most_sadistic.
