Yes we need a president. Because if we didn't Congress would have too much power and thats bad. Everything has to be limited. Thats why our government ( US ) uses a system of checks and balances to make sure one branch of government doesn't have to much or too little power.

Yeah but this president is an expert in what field exactly? He is not qualified to run a mcdonalds. The experts in each area of the executive branch are in the cabinet.

Um, no, actually that flew out the window a while ago. That's why the president now has the power to override Congress.

no, a president is a public face. I don't really go in for the Illuminati thing, but I do think any president is given a rigid agenda by those who really run the show, corporations and banks. society rotates around money, not politics. it sure seems funny how many presidents come from that rather incestuous post-royal family/aristocrat Martha's Vineyard crowd with weird Ivy League names.

ultimately, any president who actually gets elected is bad news.

you're probably right, I distrust the state and believe that voting is most likely a complete facade, but I choose to be, eh, 'agnostic' about it. I still haven't seen enough conclusive evidence to really make that big of a call.

I am however certain that even if the voting system were legit, the media would determine who would get the majority vote anyway.

Yeah, the entire presidency is purely symbolic.

...and so on and forth. I have to take a government class this semester and it just pisses me off because all the teacher goes on about is the major candidates in this election and blah blah blah. I need to start getting high before class.

We need soft spoken gay man that carries a cattle prod, a bull whip... that doesn't mind seeing his guillotine dripping wet.
There should be no prisons, if you commit a crime .. you lose something. a finger, then a hand.
If you commit a crime of violence... send em to the chopping block.

It would be a beautiful, peaceful and loving world !

On September 11th, Congress handed over Checks AND Balances over to Bush.
Which means, as was previously stated, President can override Congress.

We don't need a president, it's pretty much just a representation. Just like Britain still has a Queen, but she doesn't do shit, the Prime Minister and stuff does. Just an icon.

Bush is still a complete pawn though, ruled by the men behind the scenes.

Perhaps we need a talking head, but this retard can't even string a coherent sentence together.

The people should have veto power.

I think that a presidents is a reflection of his country's people in a sense.

Bush being president says more about the American people than a lot of people think.

    Indeed.

We the people are to blame for all the shit going on.

We have the right to protest the government, the whole reason we split apart from Britain was because their Monarchy had too much power. Same goes to ours now, yet since the people are satisfied with their lives and see no need to get politcially involved, this continues to happen.

Cheers for the words my friend.

    Peace and Love, John.

You do need a president. As a target for the mis-informed.

It's so much easier to blame one man for all the shit going on than face up to the reality that the whole system and everybody in it, is pandering to corporate America and doesn't give a fuck about your average John Doe.
