Sooo I'm on my way to Costa Rica in 3 weeks, and I really, REALLY want to get my nose pierced. Sadly, I'm a minimum wage slave and the dress code doesn't allow facial piercings. So I'm wondering- I'll be learning to scuba dive within the first week or two that I'm on my trip. Would it be all right to get my nose pierced, then in the same week go a few meters under water in the Caribbean Sea? Or would it be better just to wait until afterwards?

And while I'm here I guess I'll ask how long nose piercings typically take to heal (I know every body is different, but just a rough average estimate would be great!)?

Muchas gracias, love and peace :)

Sea-water is fine, actually quite good for piercings. Nose piercings generally take 8-12weeks to fully heal.

wouldnt a nose piercing cause issues with the scuba mask? especially if its going to be tender and fresh?

Thats a good point.. depending what type of mask you will be using it could be a huge irritant and wont be nice to the healing at all..
