I'll have to check the movie out, I've only read it.

I saw the Will Smith film I am Legend, then read Richard Matheson's original novel and have now tracked down this earlier adaptation, The Omega Man starring Charlton Heston.

I was somewhat astonished to realise how much the new film has lifted from The Omega Man - such as making the central character a military scientist, having him meet other human survivors, having him watch movies and speak the lines along with them (none of which happen in the book) plus various other details which would spoil the movie for anyone who's not seen it. I really think the new film should give some acknowledgement to the writers of the earlier one.

Children of the corn. It was an okey film. It felt really familiar, even though I have never seen it before.
