Hey guys my bowl is really starting to get resinated and i was wondering if anyone knows any secrets on how to fully clean a bowl. I heard if you put it in boiling water it cleans it but it smells, and i don't want that so does anyone know of a way to clean a bowl? P.S. If this thread doesn't make since then im sorry i can barley type im high as balls.
run a hot tap, fill the sink, hold the bowl in the water for a few min, clean as much as you can with the green rough part of a new sponge... donot use a dishwashing one - its discusting. after get a pipe cleaner and do the inside. it should be alot cleaner, now get some rubbing alcohol/alcoholic aftershave/perfume, spray some and clean with a tissue, then with a pipe cleaner for the inside, this will make ur pipe brand sparkling new. some ppl claim you can use vinegar instead of alc, and then lemon juice to get rid of the dirty odor, but ive never tried and absolutely hate vinegar so yeah...
you can use alcohol too if you want but i dont have any handy so when i clean i use just hot water. i dont have pipe cleaners either. lol high as balls nice man!
hmn 10min max, worth it considering how great the first hits will be, same with bong - afer you clean it and change the screen, smoking is a new experience again
Yea man im about to clean it then tonight i will smoke again. So im hoping it will be better. Right now you can get super high with a resin hit its crazy theres like 1/2 pound of resin lol.
I've always believed that it tastes best out of a "seasoned" bowl as opposed to a brand new clean one. Therefore I would never totally clean a bowl removing 100% of the resin. The way I would clean a metal bowl would be to use a small jewelers flathead screwdriver and scrape the sides. Then for the fitting at the bottom I would use a drill bit.
I tried just a straight up piepe cleaner and i didnt really work. So i used a cue tip and that worked a little. Any other ideas? I mean i dont have access to water im in my room and theres no sink or anything.
dude just use the bathroom, it will get too messy in your room. oh and yea i forgot to mention you will need something sharp and pointy to scrape the resin out. smoke it if you want, i never do - just find it too dirty.
Yea ive never been comfortable with resin hits but they get you hella high. It's too late noe to use the bathroom (Ill wake up the family) so i will just clean it tomorrow. Thanks for the help bro.
Here's what works for me. Take your pipe, and some tongs. Turn the faucet on hot and put the pipe (using the tongs so you don't burn your hands) underneath so that the water is running through it. This should remove a good deal of the resin. It will stink a but so do it when no one's around. If you want an even cleaner bowl, get some isoprophyl(sp?) alcohol and some sea salt (like someone said before) and fill your bowl with the alcohol and a decent amount of salt. Plug the holes with your fingers and shake vigorously for a couple minutes. The salt should scrape away most of the resin while the alcohol loosens and cleans it. This takes a while, but it makes your bowl hit just like the day you got it. Oh, and wash it out before toking, because alcohol is flammable. And make sure to grab the bowl tightly with the tongs because glass shatters on ceramic.
Here's how I clean mine and what I use: Rubbing alcohol Salt 1 Ziplock bag Warm/hot water A pipe cleaner (if cleaning metal bowl) First I take my tar'ed up nasty looking pipe and put it in the ziplock. I then pour the rubbing alc in the bag until the bowl is submerged. I then add the salt. Then I close the bag and shake it around furiously for a good 2-3 mins. I get a pipe cleaner and clean around on the inside (if I'm cleaning a metal pipe). I then take the bowl out and rinse it off with warm/hot water. If I'm not satisfied with the results I repeat the process.
I'd find a cup that is easy to clean and big enough for your piece. then, insert piece. pour in rubbing alcohol. soak for awhile. remove. use q tip/ pipe cleaner/ paper clip to scrape. Repeat as desired. then rinse out before you smoke. can't use the bathroom at night? are you in chains too? jeez.
My bathroom is not connected to my room so it's loud when i have to open doors and stuff, and i don't want to wake up my roomie.
