I'm protesting this song. Seriously it's so lame. Everyone has heard this message before and anyone who has a mind of their own agrees with it. It's so weird that this is how low music has become...back in the old days all the protest music (that was recorded) was all on CD-Rs and shit, or good ol' Steve Earl. Now we can turn on corporate syndicated radio and hear it 10 times a day. The Man won't just sell their own propaganda to us, they'll sell us the other guy's too if it pays.

And plus the video on MTV/VH1 is so lame. Pink is just sitting on that chair playing acoustic guitar and singing and crying, like she is the first person to sing such a thing, while big tv screens in the background flash pictures of dying children in africa or new orleans. How tactless and unoriginal.

I'm also protesting PETA. Fuck those guys.

Mainstream pop music is usually lame yes. But since Bush has been president and this war has been going on there have been all kinds of protest songs! Just cuz one is popular don't mean thats the only one! And maybe its not such a bad thing that one of them is publicized so that people can hear what Pink's songwriters are saying...
One of my favorite awesome protest songs of recent is the WAND by the Flaming Lips check it out!

This thread is pointless.....old days....CD-Rs....WTF?? A number of different friends of mine's bands write great music, protest tunes included, and travel the country performing, they have a voice and a fanbase. You criticism is neither well founded nor constructive, why bother?

"Artists use lies to tell the truth while politicians use them to cover the truth up."

The fact that even the propaganda masters are allowing it on the radio is a sign of the times, every one who once supported Bush is sensing the changing tide trying to get "hip with it" and these network execs are happy to sell it to them.

I think Pink and/or her song writers were speaking from the heart.
Peace...I dont mean this as a personal assault on anyone, just my two cents.

    <<<<<<Against Bush's war....before it was cool>>>>>> There's my virtual protest....haha

Personally i like the song, In no way do I feel it compares to original protests songs of the 60's or current protests songs from non-mainstream bands but I like the song and you said everyone has heard this message before but I have to disagree because I know many close-minded people and the publicitly the song got was actually good because these close-minded people heard it, including a friend i know, and they have now changed there tune a bit

I don't usually like main stream music - however I can write a protest song right now but no one would hear it and no one would get the message, at least since Pinks already a big name she can communicate this message better?
