You tree lovers

ok, i'd love to DO something. I'd love plant some trees. HOw do i do it? here there is snow, so i guess i have to wait for the summer. and then what? where do i get a baby tree, seeds? sapling? do i keep at home to make it stronger? when in the spring/ summer should i plant it? i mean, i really wanna do this, but i dont know how to. please could someone start guiding a bit? Thank you!

 

I plant trees every year. Usually I get a Christmas tree with the root ball, 'costs a little more, but worth it. Then I plant them in the spring, but I leave the tree out in the weather till then, just sitting on the snow, that way it gets used to the weather, and it's plenty wet to keep the roots from drying out. Then when the ground thaws in March or April, before it gets hot and dry, I dig a hole and plant it. Wet times of the year like spring or fall are best for planting.

Another thing you can do is order trees in the mail. They're cheap, and they look like sticks when you get them, but they do pretty well, provided you're patient. You won't see a huge tree any time soon, and some of them won't make it, but the ones that do are usually really healthy.

The third option is to poach seedlings from elsewhere, but I didn't tell you that. Get yourself a shovel, burlap, and twine, and dig the little guys up, making sure you get enough root ball to keep them alive. Burlap and twine are good, 'cause you can plant the root ball directly in the ground, and there's good moisture exchange to keep the roots healthy.

Yes we should stop killing trees they are the most beautiful sight, and there smell is so refreshing. Nothing beats sitting in a quite forest with cool forest air on you. People should stop killing christmas trees. Every year 35 Million christmas trees are cut and sold for profit. People should plant a christmas tree for chrsitmas or buy artificial trees made with bamboo and silk. One mature tree can support a family of four for an entire year.
