Or is it the more that you serch for answers about the big questions, nature of the universe, edges of space, roll of conciousness......etc then the more confused and uncertain i become. i think as humans we are just not able to know these things. i think we must evolve for a long time as interlectual beings before we will know the answers to these questions. after all, it wasnt that long ago that we were covered in hair from head to foot quite content in the knowledge that we had plenty of bananas.
no, its not just you. The more questions that get answered, 5 more new questions pop up that are unanswerable...... Socrates considered himself a wise man, only because he realized that the more he understood, the less he knew. And I agree with you on the point that there are some things that man is not able to know or understand....prehaps they remain unknowable to use because out little brains are UNCAPABLE of understanding certain things about the organized chaos of the workings of the universe. Or perhaps we are not meant to know these things.....
what im getting at is that as humans our 5 sences are set up to inerpret the universe in a certain way and it is almost impossible for us to see it any differently even if that may be the case.
These `big` questions have many answers, somewhere you will find`your`question, and it will produce an answer that you will believe, I haven`t found an answer that I can live with, but take this to mean that my questions are still not precise enough to produce the answer that I secretly already know.
You became confused and uncertain because old beliefs were challenged in the face of new evidence. Thats the thing about beliefs. People will cling to them like grim death, until something changes their mind. The secrets of life seem daunting in the face of intellect. The first secret is you don't use intellect to know the secrets. You use it as a tool, because a sharper intellect is like a sharper knife. To know the secrets of life, you become it all. Its the only way you can absorb the nature of it. The mind can't even begin to absorb what "it" is. Use the mind to dissect the things in life, but to have attachment to any of them is to further ground you in this world and reduce your ability to see beyond it. Sometimes, more is gained by sitting and listening than sitting with one's hand up in class all the time. x
