howdy there folks. Over winter break I had a chance to crochet up a new tam for myself. It was my first time trying to crochet an image and I just free formed it. improv rocks! Hope you enjoy.
Nice, I have seen one posted on here a few years ago that was actually stitched in-it was in all rasta colors too!
hmmm... if you all would like I could make a sticky section for the things you've made or collected for your dreads (tams, beads, ect). I know sometimes too many stickies can be a pain so if anyone isn't in favor of it just say so. If this doesn't have many replies I'll just start a new thread... I love the tam goatboy! Thats great free form, I'm too much of a spaz to free hand anything, lol.
Definitely lovin the tam goatboy! Bout a month ago i was looking for some homemade dread stuff, and thought it would be an awesome idea to have a seperate section for that here! DO IT!!
i would LOVE a new tam! i'm in college and a bit on the poor side at the moment..lol. but i actually have some loans comin in soon! so i'd TOTALLY be down for a good spring tam..lol
Hey thanks for the compliments everyone! I'm glad you like it. As for a lock "accessory" sticky I think that is an awesome idea! My winter term is going to be over in a couple weeks and I will have a bit of free time possibly a lot of free time if I fail out due to excessive drinking and procrastination . So if I feel up to it I will whip out a couple new tams, post them on here, and if anyone wants one they can have it free! Woohoo!
Those tams are great dreadlochness! Awesome work I still haven't gotten around experimenting with brims. I made one with a brim but I used the brim of an old hat, crocheted a sleeve to put it in that matches the tam and sewed the brim onto the tam. Seems to work alright and its a good way to recycle crappy hats!
I'm against the Sticky. No one goes to them anyways. However, I am all for the "Post your Creation" thread, it's an ingenious idea. BTW, Goatboy and Dreadlochness you guys HAVE to post up a walk-through on how to do those. I'd like to try one. Nice job everybody. Peace and Love, John.
Do you know how to crochet Slyde Hippie? Tams are fairly simple to make. You just have to know how to chain and single crochet.
i use a variety of stitches in my tams, sometimes depends on the thickness of the wool, other times just on how i feel like making it at the time.
