Most raves don't play trance and techno these days(in NYC anyhow), it is mostly Drum and bass, Jungle, Dubstep and various other genre's

psytrance and other psychedelic based electronic music owns ANYTHING they would ever play in an NYC club. For real electronica go to the U.K., thats where all the good shit is played...SHPONGLE.

It's funny because I love the Dead, but never cared for the electric, improved sound they have. Workingman's Dead and American Beauty are where it's at for me! Old and in the way ;)

    oh im sure

im just saying, thats where the good shit is. As opposed to New York clubs.

i guess its all a matter of opinion. But Shpongle is my favorite electronic based "band"...and they play almost exclusively in Europe. Psytrance isnt that big in America. And i think drum and bass sucks, repetative nonsense.

I agree that a lot of DnB is very repetetive but it really depends on the sub genre. I don't know if you like jazzy type music but if you do you should check out what they call "atmospheric drum and bass", it can be some of the most rewarding music for an LSD trip. Try to find some sets by LTJ Bukem from the 94/95 era, it is pure bliss.

We have some psytrance parties here in NYC every few months but you are correct that it doesn't get much play here. I wish it did
