well, that's your perception. I'm glad we both have one.

Random Thoughts is pretty ridiculous, but the Stoner's Lounge is a caricature of itself.

The stoners lounge has a never ending line of 15 year old noobs being deployed and making the same threads over and over. Random thoughts not so much... so that probably explains a bit.

haha, i guess you have a point there.. it might be a bit more mentally unstable in RT... but they still have a few brain cells.

it's a bit more entertaining to talk about a range of emotional and non-sense topics than it is to tell 10 people every week that they are not going to die and are simply feeling the effects of marijuana or reading 100's of stories about how someone got stoned, ate something and then did some other shit.

whew, you kids r thorough. was it edyb who said something about how morals are associated with emotions? I think there's a lot of truth to that. Emotions are the quid pro quo of advanced consciousness. I think a lot of what people find morally wrong is just an emotional response, not a spiritual one. In fact, Time recently published an article about how the same spot in the brain that controls the reflex to be disgusted by a bad smell or an unpleasant thought, is the same spot that controls a reaction to a breach of religious morality. So basically when a person is grossed out by the thought of eating a poo popsicle, it's the same neurological process that makes them think disfavorably on premarital sex.

I voted for a "few universal moral truths". However I still think there is some relativity with them. right and wrong is relative, just like needs and wants. I only need to breathe because I want to live. by the same token Murder is only considered wrong because most people don't want other people to die.
Since the desire to live is for the most part innate (there are unnatural exceptions), it's hard to deny that the value of wanting to live is an absolute moral truth, in terms of rational people.

If I were to make a guess at one possible moral absolute, it would be an attempt by any human to remain in a stagnate state. All we really know about he universe is that it is in constant flux, and is unpredictable. So to try to be so unnatural as to not adapt and evolve, would be the closest to moral sin as I can think of, the punishment thereof being acute emotional regression. Also, getting drunk or high when you're upset or have a neg. emotion, to relieve youself of the emotion, should be considered reprehensible. That's one time when you have the best opportunity to evolve and mature; fully bearing the burden of a human emotion is integral to a stable and happy individual

many words have multiple meanings, same with sitations imo. when you see a guy shoot up a school, you think aaaaah that fucking retard, wer r the parents??? < maybe he was thinking in a way where it seemed like the moraly right thing to do, eg cleansing of the real criminals who break laws that arent listed in court.

i believe in morals, such as help everyone who needs help trully < first however they need to atleast try to help themselves. many things like that.

recently i changed my mind on the eye for an eye, i now believe in the turn another cheeck. people change, eventually they may understand and learn from mistakes < htis is also one of my morals now.

also social morals such as dont chew with your mouth open are right, since it shows manners and understanding of other people, like you know some ppl dont want to see your mouth open or you crunching your chicken.
