Picked up an IBM Thinkpad (circa like 1999) and it has 100MB of RAM and a 300mHz Pentium 2. It's so fucking pathetic... I'm gonna either use it for hacking and shit or I'm going to OC it to death. I can't believe they ever made this shit.. It runs XP like it's got a bug in it's ass. ---- BTW does anyone know how to bypass a windows XP logon screen? I'm having a bitch of a time getting the safe mode screen to come up, and I'm not much of a password hacker. I got the safe mode one time now and I got the Admin password on the first try... lucky me! However, I hit the power cord (son of a whore)
... and it's NOT stolen. A friend bought it and couldn't get past the BIOS password so he gave it to me.
Think that shits old? You can still get a Commodore 64 at swap meets and shit. 64mb onboard ram and boasts 2400 bps modem speed. But the programming language was 'Basic 2.0' 10 printscreen black (Blanks the screen) 20 call color................. Ah crap. That was for the TI/99/4A sorry. LMFAO now!
I would be using my windows password cracking boot cd, but it has no CD drive... And yeah I know it's not THAT old, but it's still pretty bad. I thought it was hilarious compared to my current laptop, running 1.7gHz dual-core, 1.5gigs RAM, and a 7200rpm 100gig hard drive. I haven't used or been near a laptop before I got my current one so it was new for me! PS I used to have a commodore 64, they're pretty fun for the old games still. Not much else (in my opinion)
just reinstall windows, or if you want it to run a little faster, grab a copy of any linux distro and cover up windows altogether. no point in messing around trying to crack the password -- a fresh copy would be nice to have anyways.
i dont think that computer should be running xp with those specs. install linux on it and i bet it runs better.
