... in almost every single village in india, even the most remote ones there is now an ad of coke painted on some wall.... this is the reality we in the west dont see, and every one of you, out there drinking coke, are part of making the 3 rd word a place full of red ugly big coca cola ads, some local villages in india dont have any more water in the well left (because it is being all used up by the coca cola factory) more and more locals get poisoned by chemicals coming from the factory (kadmiun among others) and we are "learning" the indians who can afford it, to drink coke.... please YOU can really DO something... stop drinking it
I love Coke--Its tasteee. And the Coke Rewards are awesome! Also the Coke syrup makes my otherwise always upset stomache not so upset. If Coke posters are getting you in this much of a huff...what kind of effect do REAL issues have on you.
I think it is a real issue, because the coca cola company is the best example of globalization. We have it everywhere and many say that it is not healthy at all. Besides, if they take water of india( where they dont have enough) for making coca cola and the population is being poisoned by the chemicals they use, it is just wrong. I have heard that Coca cola Zero is also very bad for the health( more than the others) so it has been prohibited in some countries. Do you know anything about that?
Since I first heard about a Coca-Cola factory hiring hit-squads to stop organized labor in Columbia I stopped buying their products. What's going on in India is really no different. A global company taking what they need without concern for the locals. I heard that Coke was kicked out of India years ago but obviously have been allowed back in. There is little coverage in the news media about what's happening in the name of bringing Coca-Cola to the rest of the world. The only pop I can drink is Ginger Ale...I can't stomach anything dark. coke & pepsi being at the top of that list.
