getting paid to do little or nothing..

im not sure if i like it or not..

well i do construction and we all know about the housing crash. for the last couple months more often than not ive been working only a hour or two a day.
my boss pays me for a full day but i think id rather earn it.. im gettin lazy.

a couple weeks ago i actually had to put in a string of 3 full days an i was all sore an shit for a week after.. lol

i dunno, i guess no point to this post,, just bored....

 

yeah i wouldnt feel right getting paid for a full day if i didnt work a full day
it sounds like your boss is just trying to be nice since he cant realy give you many hours?

 

So your complaining that your getting paid to do less work......

 

If it eases your conscience, you can send me a money order w/ the extra pay. I'll take care of homeless children, spay/neuter some pets, and overall make it good money. Karma will love you for it !!

 

lol,, no i still got bills to pay.. no real guilt,ive been there 20+ years,ive paid my dues,i guess my boss knows that..

as far as complaining,,yeah i guess i am.. i like to work,plus im a creature of habit and this is beginning to fuck my routine up bad...

theres only so much to do around the farm here in the winter time.. i need a hobby...

thats just not real time consuming though..although it would keep me in a endless supply of weed an i could stay so stoned i wouldnt realize i was bored..

play an instrument. it takes up almost all of my free time. im always playing guitar. or try building something that youll actually use.

 

I agree. Nowadays Ill just play guitar anytime Im bored, which is actually not that great since I should be studying for school more. But ya, an instrument can make you lose track of time fast.

 

thats a little outta my league. i do good to play a jar with rice in it..

i had a guitar for a while,,and a banjo for a while,,i just aint got the gift...

 

I'm kinda in a similar situation with my job. I usually work 4-9 or 10 four days a week. I do the same assembly job guys on day shift are doing, but all they do is sit and talk all day. The part count is based on what they get done, which is quite a low hourly number. So I'm doing my whole night's work in two hours exactly like you haha.


Thankfully there is a large forest behind my work where I can just wander for hours if I want. If not, I could do some exercise, do homework (yeah right haha), write music, just think, smoke, or whatever else I could think of.

If you can manage to play an instrument at your job, then you should definitely at least check it out. Music can be a great place to be absorbed in.

i had a job holding a sign on the side of a suburban road, i just had to keep the sign moving and i got paid $10 an hour, and no one ever came to check on me so i would just smoke pot and cigerettes all day and listen to my mp3 payer...lol
