so i've had my dreads for about 4 or 5 months now and i have a few questions. 1: will my ends eventually round out? or at least become less curly and whispy? 2: if i just leave them, will they combine into thicker dreads?

    -thanks dudes!

    1) Depends. I've had mine 3 years and the ends are still curly loose hair (I like 'em that way and so do the ladies :) ) 2) Probably... They tend to eat each other and become congos. If your individual locks tend to get attached and you have to rip them apart just stop ripping them and they will form some big fat congos.

if you want round tips, you pretty much need to felt or crochet your ends in, a few inches will always be loose i think.
my hair loves to congo into big fatties. for the most part, i rip it (or rather sucker other people into it, or trade dread work) because i would have a uni-dread within a month (i have allowed two congos though and i adore them). my friends dreads on the other hand dont join together at all. so if you want congos, you will probably be able to just leave them and they will do the rest, but you might have to hold some together with a bead or something for awhile first.
