Ive heard of it happening but didnt know what it is actually called. Does anyone know how to develop this skill? Any incite is appreciated I am very interested, but have no clue where to start. My head is actually kind of swimming right now so lets just say if you are interested tell me whatever you know about it please....... 8) Much love to all in advance
I have a very hard time not thinking unless I am meditating do you think this would be possible in meditation?
it happened to neal walsh when he wrote/channelled the book "conversations with god." you should check him out. its never happened to me personally so i don't know much about it
Leathal, I never practiced or anything, I had read about it sometime when I was a kid, and one day I just decided to try it out. It doesn't always come to anything much. But the one time I got a lengthy and coherent result was when I asked a specific question, and concentrated on getting an expert from the spirit world to answer it for me. Then like Bl4ck3n3D says, put the pen in your hand, blank out your mind, and wait...write down whatever enters your mind. At least, that's what I did. I don't know if it's possible to just let your hand go to work without getting the words in your mind--it has never worked like that for me.
It kind of works for me even when I'm not concentrating, though i do find it comes alot easier when i am on the computer and listening to music with a pen in my hand, that way im not thinking about writind, im concentrating but on something totally different. I get alot of squiggles, drawings, last night i got 11 love hearts lol. I occoasionally get spirits that, for some reason, run the pen right off the page. Well thats about it lol. So far.. xo
Over the centuries there have been many exponents of the art of automatic writing. Some people allow the subconscious mind to surface, while others allow a spirit or entity to temporarily take control over them (often by means of channeling) Hotwater
Automatic writing is essentially writing that is done in an altered state of consciousness that is attributed to spirits of the dead. It is believed by some that the spirits literally manipulate the writing utensil in the hands of the medium to communicate, as the writer is often unaware of what is being written and often even scrawls out text in handwriting that is markedly different than his own. Others believe that perhaps the spirits may also communicate by forming messages in the mind of the medium, which reproduce on the page. Most likely though, the medium is writing unconsciously and messages are formed from material in the subconscious mind or from a secondary personality that is gifted with extrasensory perception. Find a quiet spot without distractions. Take a few moments to clear your mind. Touch the pen or pencil to the paper or the keyboard Try not to consciously write anything. While keeping your mind as clear as possible, let your hand write whatever comes across. Avoid looking at the paper; you might even keep your eyes closed. Give it time to happen (nothing might happen for quite a while). When it seems to be done, if and when automatic writing does occur, look over what your hand has produced carefully. The writing may appear to be nonsense or just scribbling, but try to decipher it as best as possible. In addition to letters and numbers, look for pictures or symbols in the writing as well. Keep trying. Nothing might happen your first few attempts. If you start to achieve success, you can try asking questions to see if you can receive responses.
Thank you all for your incite on this... it has been very helpful.. I am definetly going to try this and see what happens. Ill keep you all posted on what the outcome is.. 8)
Sort of. Here's what to do: (1) think of some question or issue or area of life that's preoccupying you; (2) meditate; (3) write down what you remember of your meditation; (4) sit there and remember your meditation for a second (i.e. let yourself drift slightly back into your trance state); then (5) start writing, without thinking, without stopping (that is the key--write anything, ridiculous stuff, whatever it takes to avoid stopping), without looking at the page any more than you have to in order to keep your lines basically straight. It can help to set a timer--say, 5 minutes. When it goes off, stop and re-read what you wrote. See how it relates to the question or issue you were thinking about. And just like meditation, you may have to do this repeatedly, make it a practice, before it starts getting really interesting. That said, this is just one technique. You could certainly give it a try, just writing while you meditate. See how that works.
Thank you for your post ideagirl. I appreciate everyones input on this. First attempt went like this. I meditated for an extended period of time. Usually this always happens because I end up losing track of time. With a pen inhand while meditating I repeated a mantra I wrote: I am beautifal, I am all knowing With the earth I am one. Then I asked the question and thought of nothing else.Nothing happened for a long time. Actually nothing happened at all on the paper except for lil tiny squigglys that seemed as if I just shifted alil bit and that is what caused them. I did however get visual images. One being a circle which "grew" a triangle around it. I say grew because the first visual picture was of the circle and then the triangle just kind grew around it. It didn't just appear, it started small and grew. The other images were just random images of the outline of my body with energy flowing through my chakras. At each chakra there was a lil "pool" of energy swirling there and then the flow continued. The overall experience was very enlightening and euphoric, but in the end I do not think the automatic writing worked. Oh well... practice practice practice....
