Domino's Pizza discriminates against gays by not hiring them to work for them and Shakee's Pizza in Oregon also discriminates against gays for the same reason. I know because I was living in Portland at the time and knew several gays who were fired when they were found out to be gay. And Domino's has always been known to discriminate against gays.
I think he is just talking about that one in particular. Or a few in Portland or wherever it was... I guess if I had my own pizza shop I would want to the ability to hire anyone i wanted. After all, it is MY business. ha ha, im defending my imaginary pizza shop.
ALL pizza parlors that deliver discriminate against people in the inner city. Don't believe me? Try to get a pizza delivered to some neighborhoods in South Baltimore.
You do make a valid point. Me and one of my gay friends ordered a pizza from them once, and it took then 35 minutes to deliver it instead of the regular 20. Hate crime, I say!
It's hard to believe someone got fired from a reputable place like dominos pizza for being gay. Wouldn't that put Domino's at risk of a lawsuit??
If someone got fired as a result of being gay, they probably got fired for any little detail a manager's allow to fire a person for.
also, in some states like AZ, they have "right to work" laws.... basically meaning they can fire you for NO REASON.
it's true. it's hard to find drivers, who make less than minimum wage and depend on tips, that are willing to drive extra far (since most pizza places themselves are in slightly better areas) to at best be treated rudely and not tipped, while risking being robbed when i delivered i would usually deliver to the ghetto. i usually worked during the day so i never felt unsafe. i always assumed i wouldn't get tipped and i pretty much never did, but at least it gave me a nice long drive so i could smoke a quick bowl
While I think it's screwed up to fire someone just because they're gay, the employer should have the right to do so. Any business should have the right to fire/not hire anyone for any reason. After all, it is their business. Or is it?
That's quite a big generalisation based on a few people who were sacked in one place. That's like saying I knew three people called Peter who stole from me in France, so I believe every Peter in the world is a thief
That's my job day in day out I just moved from nights to days too, and i definately like it better. It's slower but the customers are better people during the day. and my big issue is the neglected shitty streets with speed bumps on every fucking corner.
