Well, it's been over 10 months since I switched to Doc Bronners and stopped combing, back in March. This is me right after I started the journey.

I started getting one dread on my right side after about 5 months, followed closely by one on my left! These were the only two dreadlets (only I could tell they were knotted as they were not very visible) for quite a long time. Then a couple more started forming quite close to the first two. In November/Dec I was in Thailand and went to the sea for a couple weeks! This did wonders and more started knotting at the back of my head. Yay.

This is them today. Really hardly noticable! So jealous of those of you who have ace looking ones after 6 months.

Problem is, they're joining together! Managed to rip some of them apart but otherwise I think I've left them too long. They are still defineable as two or three seperate strands, but near the roots they have bridged together. I'm thinking about seperating them by cutting the bridges, as close to the ends as possbile.
And at the back of my head, they've knotted quite randomly, so near the roots you have hairs wandering off in different directions. I'm quite worried about this because hair isn't strong individually, and when it pulls like when I'm sleeping, you can really feel it.

Try to keep the scissors away as much as possible, it's really easy to fuck up with them. Try to rip it all into sections that are comfortable. It's probably gonna hurt a bit, but it's better than having giant uncomfortable congos.
Leave some of them where they ARE comfortable, though, because congos are cool as fuck.

You're gonna have some cool locks.
