Bob Marley is the voice of an entire people. Bob Marley (together with Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, and others) brought the wonders of reggae music to Western culture.

People like Bobby for the ganja, Bobby wasn't just about the ganja. Hell, he wasn't even mostly about the ganja. Bobby was for rights, for justice... his music can give anyone hope. Plus, there is lyrical and musical genius in many of his songs.

You really do own Bobby a good listen, and not just listening to Legend. Those are some harsh words coming out of your mouth.

yea but its just like south park ep die hippies die, so what if he mentioned the worlds problems, the corrupt law force, the herb and the mysticism of our lives < he just mentioned them - he didnt really fix any of these problems. and fine if you like marley music, i dont care - but most ppl that wear his t shirts and all that shitty crap do so since he smoked pot and so did they.

No music or musician can actually go out there and fix the world... that doesn't mean that you should discredit them as musicians. Doing that is just plain stupid.

Marley was and is an inspiration to many people AROUND the world, not many other musicians can say that. his music is both easy to listen to and influential. he deserves a holiday.

 

no, thats precisely what i mean, stop praising him like the reason of life. i listen to many musicians daily, many insparational < but i dont treat them like some sort of miracle the way stoners do with marley. you people really need to look at him from a different view, not the wow this guy has trippy beats that make me want to play reggae.

personally i find some of his music calming and and relaxing, but this goes for alot of music.
