im planning on giving blood on feb. 12th. my school gave us the option and i decided that ill go for it. after all, my blood could save up to 3 lives. but after i turned in the forms for it and all it occured to me that they will test the blood for any abnormalities, diseases, and probably drugs. i smoked bud for the first time in about 2 weeks on saturday the 2nd. im not a frequent user since im being tested and all so i usually do single uses. do you think that they will see the THC in my blood 10 days after i smoked? should i just back out of giving blkood if all they will do is throw the blood away or worse, report me to the school?
I have given blood quite a few times,i smoke weed a lot,and i never heard anything about it...i doubt they'll contact your school if they do find anything.i just give blood cos i love the feeling of needles, saving peoples lives(if they even use my blood)is just a bonus. I say just give the blood just for fun, don't worry about any drug testing stuff...
Even if they find it I'm almost positive they cannot report it to the school. It should be covered under medical privacy laws.
Your blood testing results are private, and this is covered by HIPPA laws and the contract you sign. BUT! Will they throw the blood out? I've always wondered that, and if my donation is thrown out and not even used, I see no reason to give. I hate needles, personally, and I only give at school events to help others. Does anyone know for sure whether they test for THC, and throw away the blood that tests positive for it? Pretty stupid to do so anyway, if you ask me.
just give it. at least you can give blood ya know? and i dont think having weed in your sytem is really that "bad" for someone. i held our schools blood drive last year and tried to give blood too but they took a sample of my blood to see if i had enough iron to give it and i didnt. everything else was perfect. and i cried and so did they lady who checked me. its sad. give blood if you can
Well I'd hate to give somone blood that would cause them to fail an upcoming drug test. Would enough blood be given in a pint to fail, though? And I know: I'd rather get THC filled blood than no blood too. Haha...
