Well ive seen people wrap there hair with some string and whatnot and im wondering if thatll be a good idea to wrap my dreads in. Alot of the dreads on the back look like Matts on a neglected dog lol not too bad but there really flat and some are real fat others are average. It doesnt both me too much but im tryin to get a job so Id rather them look a tad bit more representable.
out of lazyness, i havnt tried wrapping my dreads, but im sure it would round them out. i think the hair might have more trouble locking up while in a wrap though? not sure about that.
I dunno my dreads are 18 months. I kno it takes a while and im not really complaining but my agreement with my moms was that they wouldnt affect me getting a job and I mean everywhere I apply I assume its cause my messy locks but its cool I just wanted to see if there was a way I could make them neater cause crocheting doesnt work to well for me
i used to have wraps in a bunch of my dreas. i used hemp and just macramaed em, but i literally just wrapped one once and it worked too^^. they lock up just fine in the wrap, and they DO make them more round. the dreads that i had wrapped are the ones that are the roundest. the only thing is making sure they dry REALLY good when you wash em, cuz they tend to stay wet longer if you don't pay attention to em.
Wraps definitely help round them out and smooth out lumps. I've used yarn, thin strips of cloth, wire (be careful with this one... you don't want the wire to get wet), and hemp.
