I love every album that they have made. Some.....more than others, but nonetheless.....they remain one of my favorite bands. Hopefully one day they will do a reunion tour.

They are the best band of the early 90s alternative movement. Period.

Billy Corgan really is a great musician and songwriter. It's a shame sm broke up, they had something going there. He was such a weird guy. I saw an interview of him once, and he was wearing this gray wool sweater I with a bunch of running deer on them. I was maybe 12 back then, and it was really strange because everyone else at the time (limp bizkit, korn, slipknot, etc) had this big image they had to uphold, and here Corgan was making this amazing music that everyone loved, and he was wearing an old wool sweater, something my grandfather would probably wear. Just a little anecdote I'd like to mention.

i'm in - i love them too. I read an interview where corgan states that during the time they wrote the songs for siamese dream and pisces iscariot , he was doing so much acid (along with the rest of the band) that it was causing him to stutter.. i was suprised at first, but then started looking at the liner notes and was like "yeah i see now". they were tapped in to something, thats for sure.

If you like them. Listen to Zwan's cd. It's Billy Corgan after the Smashing Pumpkins broke up.

only have 3 of their cd's,Siamese Dream and most of Melon Collie is great stuff but i don't like Adore very much...i've heard the Zwan cd and the song writing on that was alot better than on Adore imo.

Actually, as far as technical talent and musicianship, Mary Star of the Sea is Corgan's best album.

no i cant beleive you would say that. almost all there songs are great.. even there b sides, billy corgan had some real problems... give him a break. One of his main influences was Thurston Moore also. Now a band who is shit and came around the same time period.. nirvana.

Nirvana wasn't so great, but at least Kurt yelled when he whined!!!

And the Pixies were better out of this "movement" and the UK band Ride

Just joking with you kid, I don't like Smashing Pumpkins in any way.....but thats fine if you do...I'm off to piss.

I love Siamese Dream... That in my opinion is their best work. I am sad that none of the unorigional retro bands have neglected to copy them at all. Nobody sounds like SP except Zwan did, but that doesn't count and isn't totally true. HAWHAWHAW!

yea billy is a great writer. ive always liked his vocals, but when i think of the pumpkins i think of them as a group. like billys awesome, but as a band. the pumpkins just fit so well. james was the guitar screaming through, such a great guitarist. one of the most under rated ones if you ask me, and he always had the parts for billy too. d'arcy great female bassist. i really respect any chick that can jam out like that, i liked melissa too, but d'arcy just seemed more a part of the pumpkins to me, and when they had jimmy his drumming just completed it. got it all to come together. and they rocked. they really did. i love the smashing pumpkins, i'll regret not being able to see a show. damn...that does suck.
