I haven't gone to the doctor yet, I hope to get an appointment for this Wednesday...so I don't know for sure, but I think I have an ear infection, and possibly a sinus infection...both caused by allergies.

My ears hurt and feel stuffy, my throat hurts, I have a fever...my sinuses hurt, and sometimes my nose is stuffy.

Plus I don't have very much energy...

Any sugestions on some ways to make myself start feeling a bit better would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have any chronic health conditions or are you taking any meds currently. If not:

You need a decongestant, badly. It will help open up your sinuses and ears. I would suggest taking Sudafed Allergy (generic), which has chlorpheniramine(antihistamine) and psuedoephedrine(decongestant). I would also use an Afrin (generic) nasal spray once the Sudafed Allergy opens you up a little, so you can completely drain, for up to 3 days. For the pain, take acetaminophen, naproxen, or ibuprofen. My preference is ibuprofen. If you are an adult, take 600mg every 8 hours, with a little food. This will help with pain, inflammation, and swelling. (for naproxen, 440mg every 12 hours, acetaminophen 1000mg every 6 hours). Cepastat is the best sore throat lozenge. I like the extra strength, but it is kinda methol/eucalyptus-ey. If you cant handle that, get the regular strength, cherry flavor. I also like to take a spoonful of corn syrup (Karo Syrup) as needed for sore throat. It is really thick and helps to coat your throat. Good luck and feel better!

I just ran out of Sudafed today...and I only use the sprays as a last result. I think they make me feel worse. :( But I'm gonna be using some tonight so I can sleep...if the shower doesn't kinda clear things up enough for me to do that. :p Ugh.

I've been taking Ibeprofin, too. Man I hate putting all these drugs in my body...because I don't think they are doing much good. :p Ugh.

I had all the same symptoms as you, seriously! I went to the doc and they gave me some antibitoics, seem to be working :) Decongestants are good, too :)

    Hope you feel better!

I'm just a little skeptical about Antiobiotics, since the first time they gave me some, I don't think I really nedded them. :p But anyway...my regular doc seems competent, and that was just some random person they stuck me with since it wasn't a Wednesday before. :p Anyway...I'm always gonna ask him about switching my allergy meds. Meh...I don't care much for putting all these drugs in my body.
