I was just thinking about how some people believe shrooms have a consciousness of their own and began to wonder: has anyone ever tested mycelium for any signs of neuroactivity? I know it sounds far fetched, and it is, but I'm just wondering if it is physically possible that mycelium could be like neurons in a brain. And even if that was impossible and there's no physical neuroactivity, it could still feasibly have a higher consciousness, jsut not manifested in any way we can see physically.
Everything has a form of consciousness even things like rocks. Did you know fungi is like between plants and animals? They have characteristics of both. So interesting man.
Yeah, it's crazy to think about. Hopefully I will get to experience the mushroom consciousness soon once some things arrive in the mail =]
Let me guess what you were doing when you came up with that little gem of an idea;0 I think all of existence forms some kind of super-consciousness. We are all part of the same system of things so there's no reason why shrooms shouldn't be conscious, but how you would test for neural activity is a bit beyond me. Maybe we could communicate with them telepathically or something like that. I'll have to try that on my next trip.
Trying to communicate with them while tripping is an awesome idea! I'll try it with some living ones next time I trip and see if anything weird happens.
