McCain, "Do we want the gov't to run healthcare?" "NO!"
"Do we want families to run healthcare?" "YEAH!"

What?!? How are families who can't afford healthcare running it? What about those people who were dropped from their insurance b/c of pre-existing conditions; are they running healthcare?

Hey McCain, it's the insurance companies who are running our healthcare system, not the average citizen. These companies (like all other companies) care about profit, not people. I would rather have the gov't provide ALL citizens some form of healthcare than let the insurance companies pick and choose the healthcare that its customers are provided.

McCain (and other Republicans) like to say that they want people to choose their doctors instead of the gov't. What about the insurance companies who determine which doctors they will pay for and effectively choose the doctors for you? Does it matter if the gov't or insurance companies tell me who I can see? No, either way it is not my choice.

I would rather have guarenteed health care, even if there may be flaws when the gov't runs it, than be denied insurance b/c the insurance company calls my bipolar disorder a "pre-existing condition." I NEED healthcare b/c I have bipolar disorder and if the gov't helps me when a private company won't, I would rather have that than nothing at all. I'm not the only one who needs affordable health care; there are many, many more who are denied proper treatment when they can't afford it.

    Peace and love

Veterans not entitled to mental health care, U.S. lawyers argue

Sorry, hippie_chick, but I think we're asking too much from idiots running this broken, dysfunctional government that can't even provide proper health and mental care for returning veterans who fought for this country.

This government can authorize to spend trillions of dollars to bomb other countries and yet cannot provide the money to care for it's physically and mentally wounded veterans, while lining the pockets of the war-profiteers, the no-bid corporate contractors like Haliburton, allowing them to post record profits.

    What a shame. :$

How sad. A kid from high school gets recruited by the army reps who convince him that service in the army will pay for college & his parents don't have that much money, so he signs up. Then he goes to basic training and before he knows it, he's shipped over seas, where he witnesses horrific violence and death. He serves his time comes back home, only to realize the horrors from war followed him. And now the gov't is going to tell him to fuck off... That's fucking horrible. You think that you are serving your country only to learn your country doesn't give a fuck about you. That's so shitty. This article shows that people are just numbers, nothing more for the gov't.

Why doesn't Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld (among other war hawks) get their asses out there in Iraq w/ an unarmored vehicle and an AK-47 and fight their own war? Oh wait, there's thousands of poor people to fight for them.

Fuck this war (and wars in general).

    Peace and love
