holy shit after 6months on and off practise, i can play 3 different songs, one being brown eyed girl, second being a guide one: eminor d major cadd9 g major =sounds amazing and one me and a also learner friend came up with: C E move fingers just 1 string bellow E E then say: D E > E G E > E Its fucking sick, im so hyped up i can actuaLLY play soemthing that sounds good =)))))) ROFL!!
Great feeling isnt it Green? Next thing you know youll be busting out Bach's 997 Gigue and Double  namaste
now is the perfect time to start makin up your own stuff. i remeber when i could finally play my first song right. eventually i just started learning more and more songs. it was insane, i did it for like 5 years. now, whenever i try to get creative with the band its weird...i either tend to play something that i already know out of habit, or i think it doesnt sound right cause its something ive never heard before. of all my friends that play, the best songwriters are the ones who dont bother learning other bands songs, or the ones who figure it out by sound, and find out their own cool twist, or make something up by accident trying to figure it out. u can take whatever path you like though, i just wish i took the creative path, instead of the learning path.
Yeah man, the guitar becomes so damn dynamic after you get all the basic chords and their variations down. As others said, start fucking around with it. I rarely play other people's songs when I'm playing guitar anymore.... I just constantly feel the need to make my own stuff up, or just jam out.
yea ive also moved onto a stage where i just like to play around, i just wished i learned with a creative approach, cause it would have made my perspective on it different.
i love to play the guitar, I've been playing for about 7 years now. what kinda guitar you playing with green?
Nows the time to start a band, you dont want to get too good, it will distract you from the true meaning of rock n roll.
acoustic and i practise with a much older friend, hes better than me but its more interesting when you play with someone. so yea band idea ftw
can anyone tell me how to play Bminor and F sharp plz? i cant find the same thing twice online, seems like everyone has theyre own version. trying to learn intro and chorus to hotel california btw
sometimes when im jamming on guitar i just think to myself how far ive come since i first started and then i start to smile and keep on rockin
Nice man im proud of you. XDIvebeen playing for years and is great to pull out the old guitar and play a few songs while your tokin up with friends.
haha you're right. I play an SG, and for some reason while high I hate the sound of distortion, so I always play acoustic. maybe it's because the electric guitar sounds too loud while high. o well good times eh? =D
Miss Caden! I didn't know you were into bluegrass. Aura and I were jamming to some last night actually. If you'd like, I can show you a few things, I used to own a banjo that a homeless guy gave me on south st. a few years ago, Im sure I remember how to play namaste
just started to learn the bass guitar-lovin it the transition from pick strumming to finger plucking is harsh, but i love the sound it makes.. there nothin much that can compare to jamming with friends.
i love really heavy music when im high...playing it, not listening. my rig is built for brutal sounds. lol i know it sounds lame but i cant think of another word to describe, i have a top of the line ibanez rg (neck thru) a jackson soloist and a kramer v. i play all of em through my old school modified ampeg stack. i feel like god when i play it high, its just insane sounding. ive been through like 10 rigs, and ive stuck with this one for a real long time.
hey, you guys into ´grass, too? i´m a DJ for a bluegrass radio show, so i could help steer you in the direction of some awesome f*cking banjo players. PM me if you´re interested!
awesome green... as soon as i get my taxes back im gonna buy myself a banjo finally.. i've always loved the sound of a banjo and have always wanted to own one but never really had the time or money for one... but i have a lot of time on my hands these days and one of my friends played banjo for a local jamgrass band and hes pretty good... so he said he'd show me some stuff..
i dont know any chords or anything of that nature, but when someone gets on the sticks and theres a guitar or bass around, i pick it up and start jamming with em. just yesterday, i played this funky ass bass line and jammed on it for like 20 minutes. but thats most of what i do in my spare time, is jam, but i usually play the drums
Right on John!! Sounds like fun Yeah, I'm employed now and living in southern Maryland, lol. So you are like 3 hours from me but I'll make it up there again some weekend I'm sure! And yeah we can jam out to some bluegrass. I was inspired to buy a banjo after seeing an amazing band live last weekend. Now I just have to save up some money for one -Peace <3
