I was really high, and really tired at like 3 in the morning, but generally driving fine, and just airing out the car a bit since i had hotboxed with my freind earlier, and then i start making a illegal U turn(didnt realize it) to go back home. LIke mid way through the U turn cop comes and makes that noise for me to pull over. I was kinda like wtf and didnt really process that i needed to pull over so i kept driving and he keeps following me so im like fuck it and i make the first right, which happens to be like right next to the county police station. i stop and he gets out of the car. I was a bit worried at this point since i had snuck out of the house at 12 and took my dads car, and under my provisional, i cant drive between 12 and 5. so initially he accuses me of being drunk and is telling me i was about to drive on the wrong side of the road and i try to explain i was making a U turn and then he told me the U turn was illegal. anyway we go back and forth about whether i am drunk so he ask me to get out of the car and tells me to give him the truth so i look straight in his eye and explain that im not drunk or high in anyway. then he starts feeling my pockets(my coat is reversible so it has inside pockets) and asks me whats in there. now at the time an opium pipe and 3.5g of headies are in my pockets, so i just take out everything else(keys, phone, garage opener, pens) and even show him my lighter. he is like "okay im going to need to search your car" so i let him and he doesnt find anything, so he lets me off for free, not ticketing me for the U turn, or driving in the wrong hours(didnt even look at my license). anyway that was definetly a close call, definetly should be more careful driving in that area(the state and county police stations are nearby, and someone people i know got arrested by 8 cop cars for tagging stuff the same night). ultimately, if i hadnt consented to the searches im sure he would have ticketed me, and maybe even gotten i dog(i think a remember a dog being nearby but i cant really remember since i was so high).
sounds fucking scary. what was his reason for searching? legally, cops cannot search your car for no reason unless they smell marijuana (which maybe he did). what's confusing me is that he searched your car, probably because he smelled marijuana, but didn't do a thorough search of you? i'm pretty sure the cop has the right to search the person if they smell marijuana in the car. o well, sounds like you got really lucky, I would take this as a lesson, maybe hotboxing a car is not such a good idea, let alone in your dad's car.
What a stupid cop. I sure would have ticketed your ass, if not take away your licence for a period of time.
