If anything, rock band is totally helping people learn drums. I mean, besides the fact that it's not a real drumset, the beats are still the same. I can now play 3's and 7's from queens of the stoneage thanks to that game
I never said it was a conspiracy. Truthfully it was just a little thought that occured to me a few days ago, i didnt think i was gonna get near this many posts
Guitar Hero is shit. I hate it. Not only is it gay, but everyone thinks it's fun to watch when it seems like I'm the only person in the state of Michigan who hates the fucking game. Buuut I don't think it's a threat to Music.. or the instrument either. It's another fad that will die out.
Music is already dead, everything these days is synthesized and over-produced to the point where it's just about sounds and background noise
i completely agree with this statement.. though it is not a drum kit.. it has the same elements of the drum kit, a basic drum kit.. meaning 4 surfaces to hit and 1 pedal... you need to have good rhythm and need to pull off some pretty fast rolls at times
No, I'm from Michigan and hate it too. I don't really care about stuff like this normally, I'm usually just like "whatever do your own thing", but when my friends sit and play a stupid fucking game for 5+ hours it's a little bit annoying. I really can't play video games for a long period of time without getting bored though, some kids can stay up all night playing their shit, after 1-2 hours I'm done, especially if I'm with friends. One time I was at a friends house and we just finished a bowl, we come back inside, and I'm just chillin or whatever about to watch T.V. and my friend starts playing Rock Band, and its a shitty ass song as well. Those games really annoy me, theres no point to them whatsoever. I also don't understand why kids spend money on Guitar Hero when they could actually get an instrument and play some real music.
Then guitar hero would not have been born, and people don't think about this paradox. I totally agree. I've said it ever since Guitar Hero came out. If people put as much effort into a real guitar as they did into pushing 6 buttons, they'd make some progress. There is no point in pretending to play guitar, and people even celebrate the fact the they've become so lazy that they can't learn the real art of playing a guitar, the way Hendrix did it, for the sake of music. All Guitar Heros and Rock Bands should be burned, they are embedding laziness and conformism into people's minds. though if you look at it the positive way, the few of us that actually took years to learn guitar and master it every single day, will stand out more.
Come on people.. half the people I know who play GH already knew how to play the guitar long before it came out. Your making just too broad of a statement.. It's just a game.. a really stupid one.. but still just a game
i hate guitar hero with a passion, my buddy and his bro each got some nice ass guitars awhile back and were practicing everyday, but then they got guitar hero and they have been accumelating dust at a rediculous speed. im glad i got rid of my game system before i got hooked to it like the rest of this countrys youth...
I see what your saying, but personally i own Guitar Hero and an acual guitar... However ask for the younger generations, i dont know what will happen, but the way i see it, Guitar Hero does not encourage lazyness anymore then any other video games. Guitar hero is not the same as acually playing guitar and people relized that which is why I believe it isnt killing music. Just my opinion
When I'm at my friend's house all everyone does or eventually gets to doing is playing Guitar Hero. I think it's boring but I'm not into video games at all really.
I cant see how its killing music the songs that are one all 4 games are songs that arent popular right now they're pretty old songs!personally i think its a great game fun and what not but like someone said up above it will eventuallly die out get old and you'll never hear about it again we all know games are like this as is music, movies. etc
