I knooow, she goes friggin' postal on her bed, crying and screaming like a child... Popped open a bunch of mini bottles of vodka on the way to work while the guy was filming her... I would NOT want to have that job... If I were a cameraman for that show, I'd try to step in and talk to the people, try to convince them they need help.
Yea on demand. I should have just said that. I just figured most cable companies would have the same type of title for their free cable showcase. I just checked my on demand, and there were only like 4 intervention shows there, but I hadn't seen them yet! Plus there was some update there for this guy named troy.
haha. I saw that one! he called himself doctor doom. I love that show, but when I watch it stoned I get kind of the "thats-going-to-be-me" kind of feeling. regardless, it's a good show. props.
^^^no way it should have the opposite effect. no matter how stoned you are off weed you will NOT turn out like the people on intervention.
Yeah I love that show. When I'm high I always imagine people I know on that show in the beginning like spelling out their names cause they always make them do that.
I've seen that show a few times. I saw the doctor doom one. That guy seemed really nice, but also really mean..ya know? I felt sorry for him.
yeah, i've always noticed that, that should so people marijuana is not shit, i couldn't see how people could even compare marijuana to "drugs" after watching that.
There were a few people where marijuana was mentioned. But they never focus on it. Its generally the Alcoholic who smokes a little pot. Or the Meth addict who also smokes a little pot.
im an intervention addict. i love how they make them spell out their names in the beginning, and some times people have trouble pulling that off. "My name is Martha. M - A - uhh R - (pause) T- H - A?"
I hate that show! So exploitatious. If you really cared about a loved one addicted to something harmful, you wouldn't exploit them. Video cameras and audiences are not what helps drug addicts. Support is what helps. I for one would not feel supported in my journey to recovery if I was an addict and my family decided to show the world what I had become after hitting rock bottom. When did personal tragedy become public entertainment? This show is not about getting better and helping people, it's a freak show. They don't expect us to root for the people on the show, they expect us to scorn them. And that is just cruel.
lol no offense, but you're soo wrong!! The families of these people have usually hit rock bottom, and are out of resources for their addicted loved one! When a drug or alcohol user is at the point of almost no return something must be done! And an intervention, and a 6 week stay at a rehabilation center (which I'm sure comes free for being on the show) is really their last hope. If I were as bad as some of those addicts, and I saw myself on television I would be totally disgusted at myself for behaving that way, and it would be something to hit me hard enough to want to get better. If for nothing else, than for my humility and reputation! It's not a freak show! If it were it would be shown on MTV, or VH1 like that celeb rehab show is.. It's not really for entertainment purposes. I think they have it on tv for education, and spreading the word! Someone has to pay for this stuff, and I'm sure their sponsors and ads do. I love intervention, and they do help a lot of the people, but some are just helpless.
